stkbassn Posted May 8, 2011 Posted May 8, 2011 Hey guys, just got a new Daiwa Coastal and I love it. However, I just spooled it up to take a cast or two and twice now the line is getting inbetween the left side of the spool and the reel........I'm not happy obviously. Can anyone tell me if there is a way to fix it or should I just send it back? Thanks...... Quote

Make sure the reel is spooled with the line dia. it is intended for..14/120, 16/100 If you have the lateral play in the spool (CC) set to lose it will allow a small dia line to slip into the spool race... Good luck & Tight Lines!! Quote

Good luck & Tight Lines!! Thanks, you're right. I discovered that it I had it set too loose.......lol. I did spool with it with 10 lb test which I suppose is too small. So, I had both things wrong. It's fine now but it's got me thinking I want to find another reel that will be just as small but will also handle smaller diameter line. Otherwise it's super sweet. Thanks! Quote
stkbassn Posted May 9, 2011 Author Posted May 9, 2011 I had picked up this reel for using on my swimbait rod but now that I've changed to my Citica 200DSV I've decided to sell or trade this one....anyone who wants a brand new reel that's sweet, light, and tough...I'll make you a deal. There is nothing wrong with it.....just had it set too loose......It's new, with box, papers. I've taken only a few casts with it..... Check the flea market forum for details Quote
