I consider this a lunker, but I don't know about the rest of you. I do not have a scale so really don't know the weight. I would guess in the 4-5lb range. It was caught around 10am, directly behind my house. (canal system connects to to the Everglades) Used a 7inch bright green worm on a 1/0 hook, with a free moving 1/16oz bullet weight, 6lb test. So, judging from the picture, how much do YOU think it weighs ??

Actually was a rare occurence for myself, because I pulled this next one out almost in the same spot. About 10 minutes later. Looks about the same size, just wanted to show another picture.

looks long but thin I would say 4 to 4 1/2 always tuff to judge from a pic. a scale is $15-$20 and totally worth it. I know once I got a scale I was really disapointed cause all the fish I had been saying were 5 lbs were actually 4.

Suddenly 5 pounders are 3.5. Pretty funny. It's pretty humbling.

Unfortunately I did not get a length, but from now on I plan to purchase a scale. I am going to post another picture of a big one I caught around 8:15pm, was already dark outside. I think it may have been around the same size though.

Your second pic is in the 2.5 - 3 lbs range.

In your first pic, that's a 4 pounder; if you're about 6'11" and around 250lbs, that is.

Get a decent scale because the truth of the matter is; 99% of 5lb bass aren't.

Most 5 pound fish are are 3 and most 1 hour battles are 10 minutes, I never look at my watch.
