What's everyones favorite depth to fish deep, shallow, what ever it maybe. Personaly I like the shallows 3 ft or less and crystal clear. Idk if its because I grew up fishing a small river that's clear shallow and packed bank to bank with big mean smallmouth and northerns. I used to go every day after school as a kid sometimes till 1am freaking my mom out catching one everycast with live craws I cought there on the spot. Them were the good ole days befor I knew what a crankbait was.

Whatever depth the fish are biting in. :D

I do like shallow water more than anything though.

My favorite depth would be the most productive depth of the day for that body of water.

On balance, this will normally fall within the 2 to 20-ft depth zone.

The most productive depth zone in “manmade lakes" is typically deeper

than in “natural lakes”. Furthermore, the most productive depth zone

varies from season-to-season and also from lake-to-lake according to

bottom topography, prevailing vegetation and forage base.

My favorite ways to fish are square bills/jigs in shallow wood, and frogs over top of shallow grass mats/pads etc.... SO I guess my faortie depth is any thing less than 5' BUT I also love fishing deep weed lines with deep diving cranks, big jigs, c-rigs,drop shotting, plastics etc...so maybe it's 12'-15' deep. OR I really like fishing right in the middle of a big weed bed, pitching plastics into holes, ripping cranks through the weeds, top water above them. I forgot to mention I like fishing docks to, skipping senkos or jigs under them, or a frog or crank around them.............I guess I dont have a favorite. Well I do it's what ever depth the bass are biting in and using when I am on the water.

I'm most comfortable fishing in at least 6' or more water.

Being shorebound....Shallow has to work for me most of the time. 6" to 10ft seems to be my focus point.

I've caught most of my LM bass in less than a foot of water.

Gimme a Rage Shad and some slop, it can be 1 foot, 5 feet, whatever. I'll be a happy camper.

Within 3' of the thermocline when present or whatever depth the bass are actively feeding in; surface to 40' is my normal fishing depth range.

1-11 feet. the reason? because there is a thermocline that forms in our lake in spring around the 12 foot mark, making it nearly impossible for bass to go deeper. (according to my grandpa there is vary little oxygen deeper than that).

I spent a lot of time fishing the 2-4' and the 8-10' range.
