Kowen117 Posted May 6, 2011 Posted May 6, 2011 It isn't new but it is to me! I got a 1989 stratos 289v with a 175 Johnson GT on it. it needs a little work but she should be water ready by the end of next week. It took 4 hours total trip to get but i think it was worth it. He was asking $4000 I got it for $2500. What do you guys think? Was it worth $2500? Quote
Triton21 Posted May 7, 2011 Posted May 7, 2011 Looks better than the first Bass Boat I had. A little spit and polish and if the motor, transom, are good and no rotten spars your good to go. Kelley Quote

Kelley I had a 15 ft skiff before this (gave it to my cousin. The transom and hull is in great shape, the trailer is pretty nice and we are have the motor's carbs cleaned and a new water pump and water deflectors on it. This is the first boat I will be able to trailer to different lakes or even saltwater occasionally so I am pretty excited. Quote
Super User skunked_again Posted May 8, 2011 Super User Posted May 8, 2011 perfect! an old boat like that just remember youll get 10 fold out of what you put in it. (heres to hoping the motor and transom is tight as a drum.) Quote

Good job, we are happy for you. As long as it runs good and does not sink ,you got a good buy. Remember boats DON,T catch fish! Alittle clean up and your ready to go. good luck and have fun. Quote
BassResource.com Advertiser FD. Posted May 8, 2011 BassResource.com Advertiser Posted May 8, 2011 Should be a great boat. It has the same color scheme as my 91 201 pro. I would clean the fuel and oil tanks, replace the fuel primer bulb, and tighten the transom bolts. Just a few things I found on my older boat. Quote
Super User bassfisherjk Posted May 9, 2011 Super User Posted May 9, 2011 I think you got a great deal.Good Luck with it. Quote
