Largemouth: 3 way tie at 6 lbs. 2oz. One was caught on a weightless t-rigged trick worm in of May 2006, another on a square bill crank baits in August of 2010, and the 3rd on a wacky rigged 6" senko. Also last Aug.

Smallmouth: 6 lbs. even, drop shotted 4" roboworm. May 2008

I have an 8+ lb LM under my belt from a guide trip I took on Lake Toho in March 2009, using a live shiner. But I don't feel that that is a very big deal, on the other hand 6 lbers here in WNY are big fish. Some day, maybe , I'll get a few more, and maybe even a 7.

7-2 Largemouth-1985-Whitehall Res.-Bluegill Gitzit w/1/4 oz leadhead inserted. Was the lake record for about 20 minutes.

Congrats to all of you on your PB's :)

Mine was just caught at a time and place where 15+ fish were probably not as rare, or as big of a deal, as some of you guys 6's and 8's. Size is just relative to so many things.

Their used to be a guy on here, from SoCal, who's PB was bigger than mine anyway.

I heard a response once to this question, which I thought was really cool....

So what's your biggest bass ? "I dunno'..... I haven't caught my biggest bass yet, but I'll let you know when I do" :)

Peace,

Fish

My largemouth PB is 7 lbs 5 oz on a Booyah Spinnerbait. There are no smallmouth that I am aware of in Northwest Missouri and when I have fished lakes with smallmouth in southern Missouri I haven't caught anything that I believe weighed more than 2.5 lbs.

Come on, Chris, give us your awesome PB!!! I would like to see Paul's too. And let's not forget Randall and Senko77. They have caught some hawgs too. Kent needs to regurgitate his story about those huge smallmouths in his avatar as well. Great story!! I think I left out Mattlures and WRB also. We have some guys on here who have nailed some huge fish!

Okay..... 18.4 lbs. It was, and still is, the Rancho Seco lake record. So far as I know, the biggest bass ever caught in Nor Cal was an 18.7 from San Pablo d**n Res.

....but if you had been in that spot, at that time, and casting that lure, "YOU would have been the one to catch THAT fish" :) Just a matter of circumstances really. I mean, somebody had to do it :)

Peace,

Fish

LOL..... If I had said, San Pablo Darn Res. would the sensor have let it pass ? :) LOL

9.1 lb largemouth on a 3/4oz spinnerbait

5.12 lb smallmouth on a wacky rigged Senko.

The smallmouth fought harder than the largemouth. :)

00 mod, I caught it on a Basstrix Bluegill, rigged on an Owner Standup jighead. Excellent hooking %, and once hooked, they almost NEVER come unbuttoned.... unlike the old Castaic Bluegill which cost me SOOO many big bass !

Hey buddy, is their any way you can post a bigger shot of that fish ? That was such a COOL shaped bass ! Just stacked ! I was so envious of that catch ! I must have fished that spot 100 X's, but I guess that one just had your name on it :)

Peace,

Personal best;

FLMB; 19.3 lbs, lake Castaic, pre spawn on a jig, 3 March 1993

FLMB; 18.6 lbs, lake Casitas, pre spawn on a jig, 9 Feb 1981

FLMB; 17.6 lbs and 17.4, lake Castaic, 17.4 lake Casitas Feb to Apl 1991.

NLMB; 12.4 lbs, lake Casitas, pre spawn on a jig in 15', 2 Feb 1971

SMB; 6.3 lbs, Crow lake, Ontario Canada, split shot worm, 5 July 1980

You are fortunite when you get to fish lakes that have a good population of giant bass. Haven't caught a bass over 17 lbs in the past 18 years!
