checho Posted May 5, 2011 Posted May 5, 2011 So I was fishing today in the hopes to catch another bass lunker like i did a couple of days ago when I got tied up with this 3 1/2 foot gator. I thought about cutting the line but i saw he was a manageable size and I didnt want to leave a hook in him so we played tug o war for about 15 mins on my 10 lbs braided line until i could get my kayak to shore and then i brought him up on land, grabbed him, took the hook off him. Snapped a couple of pictures for us and let him go. Didnt catch any fish but this guy sure dragged me around for awhile. SO GOOD TO BE A FLORIDA BOY. Quote
Kowen117 Posted May 5, 2011 Posted May 5, 2011 NICE! I have many stories similar to that... unfortunately they usually involve a bigger gator Quote

Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted May 6, 2011 Global Moderator Posted May 6, 2011 I was thinking a big pike not an actual gator! I don't think I would have needed my hook back that bad! Quote

joshholmes Posted May 8, 2011 Posted May 8, 2011 i did the same thing when i visited lake toho on my vacation from new york. i was fishing a spook when a 4 footer came up and started chomping on it. i would have unhooked it but i was fishing like 7 feet above the water on a concrete wall and i didn't think my rod would take it. i didn't have my braid scissors (im an idiot) so i was forced to muscle the bait out of its mouth. luckily it spit it out. it then spent over two hours watching me, feeling cheated.
