Will post what I am catching them on or if I am even catching them yet! Check out the Florida Bragging Club (Novemer 2013) thread. A bunch of us FL guys have been doing this for months and it's a fun way to share our catches and info on our techniques and approach. We have a bunch of good guys over there headed by BassinLou he brings it altogether so it's organized. Check it out I'm sure you will enjoy it if you choose to participate 1 Quote

basswhacker75 Posted March 23, 2014 Posted March 23, 2014 There's a nice pond on Phillips Highway off of 295 and you have to get to it from 295 and turn into it before you take the right onto phillips. I have caught many three and four pounders there Quote
navybassfisherman Posted March 29, 2014 Posted March 29, 2014 Trying to get this forum started up again here in Jax. Caught 2(2.1lb and 1.4lb) this morning at the pond behind Publix at Beach/Kernan. Pulled a 5lber out of there 2 weeks ago on buzz bait. Anyone else having any luck. 1 Quote

chaseturknett Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 hey guys, I went down to the industrial park this weekend. No luck. I tried all the ponds you circled. I was using a plastic worm. Any suggestions? or new places? thanks. Quote
JaxBasser Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 I haven't had any luck out there in a long time. It used to be my best spot but it's just been dead. Quote
Hoyabassman Posted April 9, 2014 Posted April 9, 2014 The ponds off Gran Bay pkwy near baptist south has tons of bass. Nothing to crazy but just tonight I scored about 15+ bass in 30 minutes. All the ponds are spring fed so the water is pretty clear. I was using a pumpkin seed zoom worm with a 1/8 oz weight on the head. Just reeled in quick while making the worm dance with a little pop every now and then. I know of a pond back behind the FBI building...just need a boat to get in. 10 pounders for sure Quote

I know of a pond back behind the FBI building...just need a boat to get in. 10 pounders for sure Just to clarify they are not spring fed. They are just clear retention ponds. There are a few others around. alot depends on the outlet structure and if it keeps the water moving. Small fish are typical because most these ponds down here are newer built in 2007. Biggest I got outta there was 3 pounds. But ton of little fish, fun spot I take my boys there. If your looking for bigger fish, the FBI is in the right area. North got older ponds, check out the Tinseltown area, them ponds connect with big under road culverts. Google earth it. Quote
Lucho Posted April 10, 2014 Posted April 10, 2014 Hi, I can vouch for bream in Gran Bay. I fish a few retention ponds in Mandarin, St. Augustine Rd FMA once or twice and a couple parks off San Jose Blvd. Julington creek when the boat works. Lots of great info on here. I'll be sure to share some when I find a pond to write home about. Are there any fishing friendly golf course's in Jax? I like to fly fish, most ponds around dont have room to cast from the bank. chaseturknett Posted April 17, 2014 Posted April 17, 2014 Is the pond behind publix still good? Quote
