Rod Wraps/covers. Opinions?

can I get you guys experience with different rod covers. I'm looking to get some since I don't have a boat to store them in I'm constantly having to carry a bunch of rods velcro'ed (not sure if thats a word) together.

which are good and which are good to avoid?

Any brand is better than none. I have, I think, four different kinds, all bought on sale, and don't recommend one over the other.

Look up www.colestackle.com they are far better and cheaper than the stick jackets I have.

I use the black small reel covers from BPS and rod covers from Cabelas. Both work well for me as the rods go in the back of the truck on the way to the stored boat. The Cabelas' rod covers are adjustable for any length and mine are now 8 years old with no problems.

i like the slix rod covers, the are far superior to stick jackets imo. the bottom is sewn out, instead of folded in like on stick jackets, and the top doesnt have the stupid metal eyelet that has gaps on the side. the gander mountains near me have them, otherwise i think they can be had on tackle warehouse.

I really like the cabela's rod covers with the built in hook guard. It is a adjustable to any length and has pvc pipe on the end that goes over your baits and keeps your hooks from getting stuck to stuff.

I have been using Stik Jackets, but when a hook gets caught in the mesh it can be a royal pain to remove. I'm going to order a couple of the Cabella,s sleeves to see how I like them.

i have 5 and they are the greatest things esp when travel to the lake. you can rig your set up and once your on the lake, just pull them off and fish.

I have Falcon covers on all my rods. Similar to Cabela's covers, but a little better quality IMO. They're great for a rod locker, but may be a little bulky / heavy for your application. No doubt they provide better protection than the web type covers though.

I have BPS rod covers and Tackle Warehouse reel covers. The reel covers are great for transport or winter storage.

Wouldn't be caught dead without them. Spending a couple hundred bucks on a rod then letting it get beat up is just dumb. Protect your investment. I like Rod Slicks, personally.

I use the Cabela's rod and reel covers, mainly because my wife works there and I get a better discount on their brand name stuff .

Just bought 6 stick jacket a couple weeks ago. I mainly wanted to avoid tangled line while transporting my rods and while out in the boat. They work GREAT!!! so far, well worth the money. I haven't hooked one yet, but that was a concern. I like the stiffness of the mess. Makes it easy to put them on and off. Exactly what I was looking for.
