HI all, I am reading about different spawning times based on the water temp but I have no way to figure that out so I was hoping somebody could tell me when the spawning season typically ends in Florida....

Also, any advice for fishing off banks/docks post spawn?

Thanks in advance for any help...

There's no etched in stone times, especially the further south you go, they were on beds last week heavy and Iv caught spawning fish in May, usually their done by April.

They also start early at times depending on the water temps and how good they ate all summer.

Of course I'm basing this on Okeechobee which has such a large population of fish, nature spreads it out more so then other smaller lakes so there's less competition.

Thanks guys, I have recently started trying to get some bass (I used to fish for them all the time when I was a kid, caught a 5 pounder when I was 8!) but I dont have a boat so I am trying to figure out how to do well off the banks and docks that I can get access to...

I would imagine the beds stay together for a while after they leave them right? I can see a lot of beds from the banks around the lakes and ponds so I was wondering if there was any advice about how close to the beds they might be post spawn...

thanks in advance for any info!

p.s. the guy above me, gar tracker, it says your personal best is 9-10 lb.'s but that bass you have in that photo looks twice that size! Freakin huge

The beds you can see from the shore are most likely tilapia. If it is perfectly round, huge and looks like a crater then they are tilapia. Bass beds are typically harder to see and not as large.

What area are you in?

The thing about that fish was that it was short, like a little football all belly and girth, when I looked down in the water going to lip him he looked like a 12, I was surprised when I weighed him to only be 9 3/4.

Fishindaddy brings up a good point , Bass Beds are small. Right now Bluegill are bedding like crazy, this weekend I noticed the bream bedding on the edges of the Talapias hole like beds.

I was trying to quote chipD22 but somehow quoted myself, I fixed it.B)
