at my lake, i see guys catching use smallies around steep/rocky shorelines all the time. but i cant catch one to save my life. what lures would you try???

are they up high?...topwaters, spinnerbaits, buzzbaits. if they are mid level...crankbaits, pointers(susp minnows), senkos, maybe spooks if they will come up. if they are near bottom...tubes, deeper cranks. I'm sure that you will get more in depth from others.

I forgot to add...if you can, run your baits parallel to the dropoffs to stay in contact areas longer.
