GonzoFishing Posted May 3, 2011 Posted May 3, 2011 Hi everyone. I'm heading to Kansas City, MO. this June for a wedding and was wondering if anyone could recommend a place to go shore fishing. I'll be very close to a spot called Winetonka and I figure I can get away for a few hours at least one day. I would love to catch a KC bass Any info you can share would be appreciated. I can only bring one rod and a small box of lures, maybe a couple of packs of soft plastics so any lure recommendations would also be appreciated. Thanks! Quote
Super User senile1 Posted May 3, 2011 Super User Posted May 3, 2011 Off the top of my head the first place I would tell you to go for bank fishing would be James A. Reed wildlife area on the southeast side of the metropolitan area. Crankbaits, Spinnerbaits, plastics, or jigs should all work in June. Quote
GonzoFishing Posted May 6, 2011 Author Posted May 6, 2011 Thanks KC ***atic & Senile1. I appreciate the input. I'm going to map it to see how far it is from where I'm staying. Cant wait!! Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted May 8, 2011 Global Moderator Posted May 8, 2011 James A. Reed is for sure your best bet for shore fishing. I've done pretty well out there with a spinnerbait or softplastic jerkbait. One good thing about out there is if they aren't biting at one pond just drive to the next until you find biting fish.
