Selection at Wally World

Anyone else have the lure selection at their local WalMart go down the drain?  There is nothing at the two stores near my work worth buying, they only have a few bags of Zoom plastics, no hooks or snaps, some Luck E Strike kits and a whole bunch of trout and ultralight lures that no one is buying.  The only good thing is they had some cheap Smithwicks and Redfins, but they seem to have replaced the Renegade line with Cordell and Rebel castoffs.

The wal-mart where i live did that last winter, but not to the extent of what you're talking about. I don't really go there for fishing stuff anyways unless i really need something right away

Problem is there isn't a Dicks close to my house (or a Cabela's, BPS, Sports Authority or tackle shop).  The only other place that's convenient is K-Mart, but they mostly only carry saltwater stuff.  These same Walmarts had lot's of selection there last spring, but just crap this year.

My wal-mart just restocked.  They also put a bunch of stuff on clearence.  I bought a bunch of 3/0 gammy worm hooks for a buck a pack.  Zoom flukes and tubes were also $1 a pack.  Bought all of them too.  Now I need to actually start using tubes!!!

Wal mart aint what it used to be 15 yrs ago You could actually go in get top of the line reels, rods ,lures ,now ur lucky to find a decent hook .believe it or not they used to carry $200  reels in there displays and original all stars and i seen select walmarts carry falcons.now days they cater to amateurs

My local Wal-Mart just put everything in the fishing department on clearance and now there is nothing left! Been that way since Jan this year. The Wal-Mart two towns over is loaded with everything from Berkley PowerBaits to Revo StX!

All the Walmart stores around here have really cut their stock back.  I'm most upset as they no longer carry my favorite jig, Wahoo.

Many a years ago when it was just a wal-mart ours had a huge selection. one whole isle of nothing but zoom. one or two other isles where the other things and then the saltwater isles. but since it became the supercenter,the selection went down the crapper :'(.now there is about 20 bags of zoom brushogs,lizards,and worms and all pretty much the same color.not so good cranks and other stuff i would never throw. BUT a while back they were running x raps for $3. i bought pretty much all of those.Luckily i have an academy next door and a gander mtn about 10 mins away

Wal mart sucks big style anyways.The ones around here carry 90% saltwater sh-- anyways,same as dicks, which of course cuts way down on the bassin tackle.

There are a select couple of things that I depended on getting there though and now they decided to stop carrying them.Jointed shad raps,certain colors of spooks and rattletraps,yum products,owner worm hooks,and they have also gotten rid of all the gambler items they carried. : >

I'm going to have to make an afternoon free so I can take the hour drive to BPS (so 2+ hr round trip) or the 40 minute drive to Dicks.  Figure someone would realize there is money to be made.  All Walmart has is an aisle full of Joe's flies, Trout Magnets and swivels that absolutely no one is buying.   I am up north, but we have other fish other than stocked trout.

The selection at my wal-mart has gotten terrible. They have a few Yamamoto, Zoom, and Culprit baits and that's about it. The hook selection was also terrible. Only 2 different brands of worm hooks.

Let me guess eagle claw and gamakatsu. ours has those 2 and also mustad.

Yeah the selection has been pretty shabby at the two near me.  About the only thing i go in for anymore is power pro,  theyve got it for a couple of bucks cheaper than the dicks near me.

Nope. Just Eagle Claw and Mustad.

The one here used to be pretty decent but a lot has changed in the last year.

Before, it was a great place to buy hooks because they sold Gammies, Owners, Mustad, and Strike King in just about any shape and size I needed.

Now its way different.  They only sell Eagle Claw.

Also, the bait selection went down.  Where did all the Rattle Traps go?

WalMart only stocks what sells.  If they carry an item on their shelf and it doesn't sell, it will be red-tagged and won't be restocked.
