I recently bought a new e21 carrot stick. I have fished with it a few times and noticed the grip on the butt of the rod is really rough, almost like sandpaper. In a tournament today I threw this rod almost all day and now my hand is all torn up. Also, from makeing the switch to the carrot stick, I feel like i am loosing more hooked fish during the fight, isnt the parabolic bend supposed to help with that? has anyone else noticed these problems?

Nope I didn't have those problems. I broke the only Carrot Stick I will ever own the first day I fished with it. It was the heavy action jig rod and I broke it when setting the hook on a 4 pound fish. Those rods SUCK.

I have never heard of that problem but it does not surprise me.For the money there are much better options on the market. Try their customer service (good luck) and if that dosnnt work then try the store where you baught it.

Those rods have almost no grip to them, short and thin, it's about like holding the blank..Wrap the handle with rescue tape to build it up and add a gripping texture to it. That's what I had to do with mine, wouldn't even fish with it the way it was but it's fine now.

Which series did you get? They're all chinese junk anyways, a bunch of de-lamination problems with them

i own 3 of them and never had a problem with any of them. i've tried other rods and feel the carrots sticks have more sensitivity to them than the other rods.

What kind of bait/lure are you loosing these fish on?

Ive got 2 c-stix this off season bc of a steal i got on them...so far so good!! no probs as of yet!

Ynnhoj86, its the crankin stick so iv been throwing lipless cranks and bandit 300's. I lost 1 in a tournament on a lipless and 2 4 lbrs in practice within 5 casts on a bandit. I know bandits stock hooks are crap but I had never had to change hooks out before. Maybe I am just noticing it more because the rod is new to me but I really don't ever remember losing fish to the extent that I have. I know when throwing treble hooks I'm going to lose fish. Maybe fishing with it more will help me get used to it. I love the rod and sensitivity tho

ya the rod is so light and sensitive. i dont remember myself losing any fish when i first got it, but it could just be mental. This last weekend, i bought a new Carrot Stix for my baitcast reel and i was senko-ing it up, and i literally felt everything. Right when the fish picked up the worm, i felt it, and then set it set the hook before i usually have to see my line run away before i set the hook.
