Bass_Akwards Posted April 29, 2011 Posted April 29, 2011 What craw do you guys have the most confidence in when texas rigging? I have had a little luck T-Rigging the Berkely 4'' Chigger Craw, but I'm looking for something different and potentially "better." Anyway, what craw have you guys traditionally crushed the big mamas on? Quote
hmongkidBee Posted April 29, 2011 Posted April 29, 2011 Strike King rage tail Baby craw or the regular craw. Don't know what it is, but the bass hammer this lure. Quote
catchnm Posted April 29, 2011 Posted April 29, 2011 Strike King Rage Craw is the best soft craw bait as far as I'm concerned. Just got a package from BTD today with several packs of three new colors.....for me that is. Falcon Lake Craw, Big Tex, and California Craw. They all look great and can't hardly wait to give them a toss and see how big o' bass I'll hook up with. Quote
Super User RoLo Posted April 30, 2011 Super User Posted April 30, 2011 The plastic craw I use depends on how it's going to be fished. For penetrating dense weeds and mats, I like the Zoom Big Critter Craw. It's arguably the most streamlined of craws and is made of buoyant plastic to boot. You may recall, that's the lure Preston Clark used to set the 4-day BASS record (since broken). For cranking and gliding in midwater, I like the Strike King Lobster. Many prefer the Rage Craw believing that the lobster may intimidate smaller bass. I wish that were true, but the little rascals whack the lobster too. Roger Quote
Big-O Posted April 30, 2011 Posted April 30, 2011 I think I like the.... Uhhhh.... It really depends size of Craw I'm needing at any given time, then I probably prefer a..... well heck this is kinda hard to discern More importantly, I'm really glad there are some folks here that like RT's too Big O www.ragetail.com Quote
Super User CWB Posted April 30, 2011 Super User Posted April 30, 2011 Any craw will work as long as it's a Rage Craw in Falcon Lake Craw color. I'm not too fussy. Will be throwing it keel-weighted as I'm sure alot of other guys will be too! (Darn Steezy) Quote
SwimJigs Posted April 30, 2011 Posted April 30, 2011 I don't fish craws often, but when I do it's the Jackall Sasuteki Craw! Quote
Super User eyedabassman Posted April 30, 2011 Super User Posted April 30, 2011 For me, the Netbait Paca, Baby Paca, Tiny Paca! Quote

SausageFingers Posted April 30, 2011 Posted April 30, 2011 Rage Craw in Falcon Craw, Bama Craw, or Watermelon Red Flake Quote
Greed Posted April 30, 2011 Posted April 30, 2011 For me, the Netbait Paca, Baby Paca, Tiny Paca! Yessir, can't go wrong with a package of green pumpkin of all three of those around my neck of the woods. Quote
Super User Sam Posted April 30, 2011 Super User Posted April 30, 2011 My favorite craw is the one you get out of the pot and place in front of you for a fantastic dinner. Put some Cajun seasonings in the pot with them, aloing with some corn and onions and you have the best feast you could wish for. 1 Quote
Super User RoLo Posted April 30, 2011 Super User Posted April 30, 2011 I like berkley's new fatty havoc craw The Havoc Fatty has been on my next Buy Order list It was designed by Bobby Lane (he’s been tearing it up here in Florida) who essentially beefed-up the scrawny body of the Chigger Craw. The Berkley Fatty is rumoured to move like a Paca Craw, but I really hope not. Although the paca craw catches bass, at high-speeds the paca is reminiscent of a double-tail grub and at slow speeds it gets loose & floppy, like the flippers of a dead turtle Roger 1 Quote

MNGeorge Posted May 1, 2011 Posted May 1, 2011 Used to be a big Paca Craw fan until I tried some Rage Tail Craws...now I'm pretty much all Rage Tail when I'm fishing a craw. I haven't tried the Lobster yet, but the regular Rage Tail Craw and the Baby Rage Tail Craw have both brought many a Mississippi River Smallie to the boat. Quote
