Super User Jigfishn10 Posted April 28, 2011 Super User Posted April 28, 2011 I think this has the makings to be a great series. I think it's gonna go 7 and the B's will have an extra edge to them this year to win this one. Quote
Super User deaknh03 Posted April 28, 2011 Super User Posted April 28, 2011 Bruins will win this one just out of revenge, but until they get rid of Julien, they are too soft to win it all. Quote
Super User bilgerat Posted April 28, 2011 Super User Posted April 28, 2011 You know where I stand.... Hey Jig, check your messages... It's gonna be a barn burner. Quote

Super User Jigfishn10 Posted April 28, 2011 Author Super User Posted April 28, 2011 Friendly wager Bilgerat or any other Flyers fan? I change my avatar to a Flyers logo for the remainder of the Stanley Cup playoffs if you change to a B's? Quote
NHfroggin Posted April 28, 2011 Posted April 28, 2011 I think the bruins can win the series IF they create opportunity's on the power play. Going 0 for 21 is unacceptable. I also think they are better than they looked against Montreal, its always been a tough match-up. -matt- Quote

zero limit Posted April 29, 2011 Posted April 29, 2011 I have no dog in this battle, As an outsider with an unbiased opinion I'm looking at the goaltending and see the Bruins with the edge. Boston in 6 Quote
key chain bass guy Posted April 29, 2011 Posted April 29, 2011 Bruins in 3! The NHL will be forced to invoke the little known mercy rule. Quote
Super User bilgerat Posted April 29, 2011 Super User Posted April 29, 2011 Bruins in 3! The NHL will be forced to invoke the little known mercy rule. I think you need to go lay down for a while. The heat must have gotten to you... Quote
Super User Jigfishn10 Posted April 29, 2011 Author Super User Posted April 29, 2011 Gotta love the cult following the B's have, Bilgerat. They are all die hard fans. BTW, the B's have an owner on the trading block, you guys want to pick up a guy they call Jacobs? We'll take no compensation. Quote

BTW, the B's have an owner on the trading block, you guys want to pick up a guy they call Jacobs? We'll take no compensation. Cult following...heheheh...no different here. Many former Flyers, Phillies and Eagle players stay in the area here after their careers are over. The Flyers players are by far the most approachable, followed by the Phillies. Most of the football and basketball players here wouldn't pee on you if you were on fire. Walk up to any current or former Flyer and they'll talk with you and give your kid an autograph without shaking you down for $40. Every year the Flyers host the "Flyers Wives Fight for Lives" charity carnival at the Wachovia Center. It's a sellout every year. Middle age women around here are some of the most rabid Flyers fans I've ever seen. Talking hockey with a knowledgeable 55 year old housewife....only in Philly Quote
trevor Posted April 29, 2011 Posted April 29, 2011 Flyers, unless Thomas is incredible. Or Boucher is incredibly bad, which I don't see happening.... The Flyers did just have to play against Miller, so if they can deal with him, I think Thomas is do-able. Quote
Super User Sam Posted April 30, 2011 Super User Posted April 30, 2011 Jigfishing, you are funny. Flyers in 5,6 at most. I hope the Flyers wrap it up in Boston if they don't sweep the series. Quote
The one that got away Posted April 30, 2011 Posted April 30, 2011 My heart says B's in 6. But if I were in Vegas, my money would say Flyers in 7. Quote
ROCbass Posted April 30, 2011 Posted April 30, 2011 Flyers, unless Thomas is incredible. Or Boucher is incredibly bad, which I don't see happening.... The Flyers did just have to play against Miller, so if they can deal with him, I think Thomas is do-able. You're overlooking the difference in the teams in front of the goaltenders. If Miller had Boston's D, the Sabres would have won that series. As it is they came darn close, even though they couldn't clear the zone and constantly left guys alone in front of the net. Quote
Super User A-Jay Posted May 1, 2011 Super User Posted May 1, 2011 Game 1 goes to the Bruins - 7-3. Flyers will make the adjustments and the Bruins will look to keep it rolling. This game went the opposite of what I expected. The Boston D really got involved in the Offense and It payed off. If they keep that up they might start getting burned . . . . . A-Jay Quote
Super User Jigfishn10 Posted May 1, 2011 Author Super User Posted May 1, 2011 I agree A-Jay, the Flyers will not want to go to Boston down 2-0. I see them coming out smokin in game 2 and their fans will be charged up. This series will be nothing like game 1. It's gonna be a great series. Quote
Super User bilgerat Posted May 1, 2011 Super User Posted May 1, 2011 All I know is unless the Flyers handle rebounds and loose pucks better, they're gonna have a tough time. Some of Laviolette's matchups against the B's lines had me scratching my head. Don't even get me started on rattled goaltenders... BUT, gotta give the B's their due, they played a good game. Having Thomas between the pipes makes it that much tougher on us. Quote
Super User A-Jay Posted May 2, 2011 Super User Posted May 2, 2011 The Flyers are starting Boucher in goal again for game 2 tonight. This should make Philly fans happy because he's the best net minder they have. This should also make Boston fan happy for, well pretty much the same reason . . . . A-Jay Quote

Thanks for the laugh Quote
