Depends, how shallow are we talking? I love the 1- for really shallow water or fishing over shallow weeds.

For a little deeper shallow water (if that makes any sense) I like the RC 1.5, Bandit 100, and Xcaliber squarebill.

If I am diving 2-3', I will take a Koppers Live Target in pumpkinseed or Bluegill. I have also always loved the Rapala shallow shad raps. If only they weren't so d**n light.

The roumba is something different for the fish, and the sebile mr goes down 2 or 3 feet, so it's not as shallow as the others, but works great.

Bandit Foot Loose has been a good one for me.

I know you are looking for a crank bait But on Santee Cooper there is so much primrose, lily's coontail, & other type's of grass that I use a 5/16 or 1/4 oz War Eagle in 5' or less. Over the top of the grass I will use a Megabass Vision 110 it is an excellent bait. :)

I hate to be "that guy" but the KVD 1.5's have been working very well for me lately. I have also had very good success in the past with SK 4s's, and series 1's, Bandit 100's, and Rapala DT Fat 3's.
