rowyourboat Posted April 28, 2011 Posted April 28, 2011 i just picked up my first tube. now is the time when you guys tell me how awesome it is so i dont feel bad about spending money haha Quote
Fat-G Posted April 28, 2011 Posted April 28, 2011 It's pretty awesome, I don't feel as confident in my lure without it smothered on there. Quote
Super User clayton86 Posted April 28, 2011 Super User Posted April 28, 2011 I just got a tube as well no luck yet but I wasn't catching fish befor either Quote
Super User CWB Posted April 28, 2011 Super User Posted April 28, 2011 Guarantee it won't be your last! Quote
Kelly J Posted April 30, 2011 Posted April 30, 2011 megastrike is all i use for scents. it also helps baits come through weeds alot better too.it wont be your last tube it works really well and stays on the bait better them most that i have used. Quote
kLuo Posted April 30, 2011 Posted April 30, 2011 I'm thinking of getting my first tube as well. When you apply it, do you need to rub it into the bait with your fingers, or do you just squeeze it on? Quote
Super User senile1 Posted April 30, 2011 Super User Posted April 30, 2011 Place a little dab on your fingertips and rub it all over the bait. Quote
Super User clayton86 Posted April 30, 2011 Super User Posted April 30, 2011 I got a northern on a worm smeered in it today Quote
BASS fisherman Posted May 1, 2011 Posted May 1, 2011 Im personally not a fan mainly because you have to rub it on yourself and I dont want that crap on my fingers. But they have a huge following so I would imagine the stuff works. Usually products like that come and go, but Megastrike has been around a few years now so there must be something to it. Im a prissy fisherman when it comes to using scents and dyes. I dont want jelly all over my fingers that smells like rotting shad with essence of some nasty pheremone that makes me gag. I want a bottle to dip lures in, or a bottle with a pump that sprays. Trying to use some implement to spread the jelly on doesnt work to well either. I even tried a plastic bag to dip my lure in it then you squirt in the jelly. That just makes a mess if your not careful. I was not careful and havent tried it since because it still made a mess. ripinthem Posted May 1, 2011 Posted May 1, 2011 To be honest, I really haven't seen a difference while using it. It does give plastics a slick coat, so I'm sure it slides through cover better. Quote
Super User clayton86 Posted May 1, 2011 Super User Posted May 1, 2011 I don't think it smells bad hardly at all. I carry a shop rag tied to my bag and just wipe my fingers on that or my pants which ever is more convieniant. But I don't notice I smell like rotting shad maybe I'm just a smellier person haha. But my wife doesn't even notice and she's got a nose like a coon hound. Quote
Super User senile1 Posted May 1, 2011 Super User Posted May 1, 2011 I just lick my fingers when I am finished using it. Quote
Crowcommander Posted May 2, 2011 Posted May 2, 2011 Put a little on your lips if there chapped and it sure helps.Works better than chicken manure to keep you from licking them.Seriously,I have 3 tubes in the boat right now with a new spare on the peg board. Quote

Wouldn't want to get any of their slime coat or that real live fish smell all over your fingers. 1 Quote
Deep Jig Posted May 2, 2011 Posted May 2, 2011 In my opinion: Gulp! > MegaStrike > nothing Gulp! is just a pain because it seems to wear off relatively fast and you have to remember to soak your plastics the day before you fish to get the most out of it. There is a spray bottle of gulp but that wears off even faster. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted May 3, 2011 Super User Posted May 3, 2011 I think MegaStike helps hold fish longer. The vasoline like texture is VERY user friendly compared to other attractants. However, you may find it annoying if you have just had your nails done! Quote

collegefishing12 Posted May 3, 2011 Posted May 3, 2011 Maybe if you put Megastrike on your nails before you get the done they will stay on longer too?! Quote
SimonSays Posted May 4, 2011 Posted May 4, 2011 Try BioEdge if you don't like touching the scent, they come in stick form like chapsticks Quote
Super User clayton86 Posted May 6, 2011 Super User Posted May 6, 2011 Well I'm more then sold on the stuff I put it on all my plastics today had tons of hook ups aven ehen reacting slow. Then to top it off I caught a crappie that kept coming up to the canoe biting the tail of the fluke I had dangling over the edge. The crappie hit it 3 or 4 times then I got sick of it and when he came up I grabbed him as he dangled from the tail no hook so it def makes them hold longer Quote
chromedog Posted May 6, 2011 Posted May 6, 2011 I love the stuff. If nothing else, I know it covers the smell of my sent that gets on the bait when I handle them. I don't mind the smell, and it is no worse than touching a pickerel, lol. And is sure smells better than Gulp. We call that stuff daytime hooker. Quote
JoePhish Posted May 6, 2011 Posted May 6, 2011 I've been using Carolina Lunker Sauce in Crawlic for several years now. I recently purchased a tube of MegaStrike. Results have been mixed. Maybe it's just circumstance or maybe it's a confidence thing but I feel better using my old brand of "stank". Quote
