wisconsin heat Posted April 27, 2011 Posted April 27, 2011 Those gander mountain ones are great, you get quite a few for not a lot of money, the free hook is nice too and since they have craw trailers when they become worn and beyond rigging, you can tear off the bottom and use it as a jig chunk Quote
GTrombly Posted April 27, 2011 Posted April 27, 2011 I picked up some of the Roboworm sourpuss'. Anyone have any luck with those? I have not been able to use them yet. Quote
bweave09 Posted April 28, 2011 Posted April 28, 2011 Because all the witty remarks are taken, I'll say RI Sweet Beaver and Netbait's B Bug Quote
ChrisAW Posted April 28, 2011 Posted April 28, 2011 I have tried some other beaver styles before, but the only one I have caught anything on is the Berkeley Pit Boss. -gk One of my managers went to a big vendors show out in Minnesota a month ago or so, and he seen them giving some of the Havoc baits away. He gave me a pack of the Pit Boss' since he doesn't really do as much flipping as I do. I went and threw one into my neighbors pond and I'm actually kind of surprised by the amount of action the appendages have on the Pit Boss. They look so simple, but I'm intrigued and I'll be giving them a fair shot this year. Other than that, Big Bite's Fighting Frog is one of my favorites. They have nice action, a handy slit down the middle helps make sure the hook can pop out plenty to get a good set, and have a good profile with the craw style claws. Quote
Super User whitwolf Posted April 28, 2011 Super User Posted April 28, 2011 R.I. sweet and smallie beaver....Watermellon red during daylight hours and black /red fleck at night.....Great baits. Quote
Chris Posted April 28, 2011 Posted April 28, 2011 I use either the sweetbeaver or ugly otter most of the time. I have also done well with a zoom superhog in clear water. Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted April 28, 2011 Global Moderator Posted April 28, 2011 I like the YUM Wooley bug. Fished the Havoc Pit Boss Tuesday and did pretty well with it though. With the price tag on it, it's hard to argue against using them for just fun fishing. Quote
Greed Posted May 11, 2011 Posted May 11, 2011 I like the Berkley Havok Pitboss on a 3/16th tungten weight. A close second would be the smallie sweet beaver in CA 420 on a 1/8th shakyhead. Quote
vivian Posted May 12, 2011 Posted May 12, 2011 If they weren't more expensive and so fragile, they would be my go to beaver bait, even ahead of Reaction Innovations. Quote
Super User RoLo Posted May 14, 2011 Super User Posted May 14, 2011 I actually prefer the ugly otter over the RI sweet beaver. I'll drink to that Roger Quote
