OHIO Posted April 25, 2011 Posted April 25, 2011 This thread stems off of the pet peeves while fishing thread, but it's a little different. What are some general pet peeves you guys have on a day to day basis? I have a couple. When people text me back right after I call them. When someone leaves one piece of pizza in the box like they think you want to eat just one piece. When my boss tells me to do something while trying to act like a friend at the same time. When people say "Nuff Said." Really lazy people who leave empty boxes in the pantry. People who explain things further when you say you already understand. These are just a few of the many. Let's hear a few of yours. Quote
pa mountain man Posted April 25, 2011 Posted April 25, 2011 1. People who tailgate. 2. People who pull out in front of me(causing me to darn near lock the rear brakes up) when nobody is behind me, then they want to make a left turn a quarter mile down the road, and they wait for the car thats a half mile away. 3. People who put those aftermarket "burn my retina" lights in their car without changing over to a proper housing or adjusting them. 4. People who don't check their equipment. I work at a lake, and I'd guess that 40% of the trailers that I see have no working lights...I pick enough parts up off of the ramp/parking lot a year to fill a 1 ton dump truck(litterally). Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted April 25, 2011 Global Moderator Posted April 25, 2011 People who talk loud in resturants, not everyone wants to hear what you have to say. Passive aggressive people, drives me crazy, especially at work. People who don't use their turn signals when changing lanes. When there is a traffic jam and people drive as far up in the closed lane as they can before trying to get over. People who play obnoixously loud music or have really loud exhaust systems on their cars. Quote
Super User BrianinMD Posted April 25, 2011 Super User Posted April 25, 2011 People who wait until the last second to cut across a couple lanes of traffic to make a turn Those who ride in the left lane on the highway and won't get over if they are holding up traffic. See this all the time with people going 10-15 mph under the speed limit. People who leave their stereo on loud when they go into a gas station store, don't get me wrong mine is on loud when I drive but turned down or off when I pull in somewhere. Although it is funny when their car vibrates like its falling apart on bass hits... Quote
Sfritr Posted April 25, 2011 Posted April 25, 2011 1. People who say " I seen it the other day" NO, you "saw" it the other day... 2. Weekend afternoons at the ramp. (Learn how to do it before the busiest days of the week you idiots!!!) 3. People who order steak anything past medium. 4. Baggy pants that are past your crack (unless you are a beautiful women) 5. People who don't know how to Tip Quote
Super User Grey Wolf Posted April 25, 2011 Super User Posted April 25, 2011 People who give reviews on equipment they have not actually used , just held in the store. 2 Quote
JoePhish Posted April 25, 2011 Posted April 25, 2011 The phrase "where you at". Fat women in bikinis, half shirts or spandex. People that don't clean up their dog's crap. That guy in the left hand lane on I-95 in the pickup truck with a bed full of furniture who is only driving 50 mph. People on Facebook who use a profile pic that's at least 5 years old but try to pawn it off as their current self. Quote
Super User deaknh03 Posted April 25, 2011 Super User Posted April 25, 2011 people who use the term "irregardless" people who think a conversation at a public urinal is acceptable people who litter Quote
Super User grimlin Posted April 25, 2011 Super User Posted April 25, 2011 My biggest one is people driving while talking on their cell phones.I lost count of how many close call accidents I had while trying to avoid these idiots not paying attention to the road while talking on the dang phone. Another big one for me is people on the left turning lane turning all the way to the far right lane.If anybody up here(in Michigan) knows these types of U-turn,it's usually a far right turn and a left turn lane. It's also a stop light there.Usually the person in the left lane cuts off the driver in the far right lane making that legal far right turn.Seen many accidents occur. You'd think the left lane turns to the closest left lane and the far right lane is for people turning right on the next street. I know why people do it,because most of the time when you make that turn most people want to turn right at the next street, the idiot on the left lane doesn't want to wait behind for the drivers that were there first making that far right turn. This is my biggest pet peeve about Michigan roads. What idiot thought up this stupid bright idea in the first place? Somebody needs to tell me if the person in the left lane is actually doing anything illegal....because I have yet to see a cop pull somebody over for doing it.Yet there are hundreds of accidents that happen because of it. The pciture shows how it's suppose to be done. It's beyond me why the idiot in the left lane thinks he can make that turn into the right lane. Quote
Super User SirSnookalot Posted April 25, 2011 Super User Posted April 25, 2011 Grimlin, Michigan roads are a cakewalk compared to South Florida. We have 2 and sometimes 3 lanes turning left at intersection, not to mention the oncoming traffic turning left, it's chaos. Especially given the fact that many drivers are aged and many others are from areas where they never drove cars before. I miss driving in Michigan, the traffic flows well and the x-way system is outstanding. Traffic and waiting like forever for red lights to change is my main gripe down here. The lights are not timed with the flow of traffic. In Michigan you can get on 8 mile, go the speed limit and catch nearly every green light, down here a red light occurs about every 1/4 mile in many locations. As I understand it this traffic system was started in Ft Lauderdale in the 60's so people would be stopped often so they could "window shop". Quote
Super User clayton86 Posted April 25, 2011 Super User Posted April 25, 2011 IV got a few People who say face book official about dating some one Slow drivers Ignorant people People who don't know you but talk to you like they known you sense birth And the best for last...........my wife! Quote
Nice_Bass Posted April 25, 2011 Posted April 25, 2011 -Folks who mix good whisky with soda.... -“Locals” in some locales -Bug windshield washing fluid that does not wash off bugs. -STD's (dont have any, but I would have to rate that as a personal pet peev!) Quote
guitarkid Posted April 25, 2011 Posted April 25, 2011 1. leaving kitchen cabinets/drawers open 2. overly pushy sales people 3. walking too slow at the mall 4. snobby people who think theres don't stink 5. <--- see pic -gk Quote
Super User slonezp Posted April 25, 2011 Super User Posted April 25, 2011 If a female passender in my vehicle grabs the rearview mirror to look at herself. When kids are running wild in public or private, and their parents do nothing about it. Nuff said Quote
OHIO Posted April 25, 2011 Author Posted April 25, 2011 Wow, I completely forgot about pet peeves while driving. I basically hate every other driver on the road with me. Not related to driving, but hipsters really annoy me. Quote
BassThumb Posted April 25, 2011 Posted April 25, 2011 This thread makes me think of one of my favorite observations/jokes from George Carlin. I think it describes a lot of people, including myself at times. "Have you ever noticed that anybody driving slower than you is an idiot, and anyone driving faster than you is a maniac?" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hkxaF5Pq5D8 Quote

Funny you mentioned that, I actually miss Texas because of those U-turns don't exist. I've noticed too,if you catch a green light it's a straight shot down the road without stopping.I can make it home in 7 minutes that way,Usually it's 10-15 minutes through the "shortcut way" to work. The only reason I don't take the same route to work is because I'd have to make 2 U-turns to get there. That would actually take me longer to get to work then it would as if I was coming back home.My wife actually taught me that when I moved up here. You know what's funny though,NY,MI,and TX are rated as the worst drivers in the U.S. Quote

They're timed on Olive/Dixie, unless you speed. Quote
Super User Bassn Blvd Posted April 26, 2011 Super User Posted April 26, 2011 Women who let it darn near all hang out and then get mad if you stare. People who bring more than 10 items to the "10 item or less" line. I'll count out loud as they unload their cart if they have more than 10. People who wear shorts/pants with their underwear hanging out. Convenient stores/gas stations who run out of a product. What is so hard about keeping the shelves stocked? That really ticks me off, almost as much as the 10 items or less line. People who leave their headlights on while backing their boat down the boat ramp in the dark. (Fricking idiots) Quote
TrippyJai Posted April 26, 2011 Posted April 26, 2011 1) When my sister throws something into the garbage, 7/10 times she absolutely air balls the garbage bin and I have to pick up after her. It's annoying as hell, I mean you went to toss something out, but fail to put it in. 2) People who eat in their rooms and leave the drinks/plates behind. I can understand being too lazy to do it at the moment, but seriously, when I come back 2 days later and I still see it... =S 3) Opening a can of pop, taking 2 sips of it, put it into the refrigerator then end up tossing the drink. Don't open a drink if your not going to at least finish half of it. 4) People who blast their music with their car windows opened. Courtesy to turn it down at a stop light? 5) Chuck Norris or the "Over 9000" jokes over the internet. Quote
pa mountain man Posted April 26, 2011 Posted April 26, 2011 A few more... 1. People in public who ignore their kid who is having a meltdown. 2. Most auto part store workers...I'm there now with cash in hand, put the phone down. I've left alot of them for that reason. 3. Farting in public, I have GI issues and I can hold it. 4. Not making welfare recipients take random drug tests. 1 Quote
Super User BrianinMD Posted April 26, 2011 Super User Posted April 26, 2011 Two more... 1. Saying GM, Ford, or Dodge are "american" cars because they are "based" in the US. Dodge is owned by Fiat, the other two have built more plants in Canada, Mexico and China. Other companies are building in the US. Its the only companies who get a pass on outsourcing jobs to other companies, why is it okay for them but when other companies do it they are being unamerican. 2. People saying they will "revoke" guys man cards for doing something they don't do. Everyone is different which is great, world would be boring otherwise. Seems to me it takes more of a man to do what they want, then someone afraid to because of how others would view it. 1 Quote
brushhoggin Posted April 26, 2011 Posted April 26, 2011 aw man. cell phone answering machine systems, the automated ones, not the ones we record. they go on and on about "to record a message do so after the beep" (as if humans don't know how to leave messages yet )....then on and on with other options when all i wanna do is leave a bloody message! THEN, they proceed to tell you to press 5 for more options, but then after they say that, they start giving you more options!?!? Also, when I eat out and order a sandwich, they bring it to me with the meat all balled up on one side of the sandwich instead of evenly distributing it. that REALLY grinds my gears. and people who come up to a redlight in the right lane but don't need to take a right therefore frustrating all the people behind them who are actually trying to take a right on red. lastly, what the hell are "natural flavors" listed in ingredients lists on food products?? also, OHIO, it depends on the individual hipster. if they are poser hipsters then yes, if they are authentic hipsters, then that is acceptable. for example, Jack Kerouac rules. or did rule.
