FAC Posted April 23, 2011 Posted April 23, 2011 I was at my lake yesterday and noticed a guy onshore using a rig I was not familiar with and he was slaying them. Today I was googling around and discovered it was a spinner rig, It seems like it is not a very popular largemouth bass presentation, so my question is Does anyone here use this rig? Quote

Super User grimlin Posted April 23, 2011 Super User Posted April 23, 2011 yeah, very popular walleye rig here.Works very well. It's very prone to snags though. That can get costly. I've made a few for my last walleye trip last year. Quote
Super User deaknh03 Posted April 23, 2011 Super User Posted April 23, 2011 Grimlin, can you post a pic, for the monkey of course. Quote
Super User grimlin Posted April 23, 2011 Super User Posted April 23, 2011 Basically all you do is tie a hook to a leader add beads then a spinner blade a few more beads and a swivel. I like the 3 ways if I'm going to add weight. There's a bunch of ways to do it,but the one pictured is more basic. I've done pretty well on the smallmouths with this rig. I use live bait on the hook. Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted April 24, 2011 Global Moderator Posted April 24, 2011 I've caught a lot of bass trolling minnows and nightcrawlers on a spinner rig for walleye. It's kind of like one of the pre-rigged creme worms with the beads and spinner in front only a bigger blade. Quote
Avalonjohn44 Posted April 24, 2011 Posted April 24, 2011 I have never tried it in fresh water, but it bangs 'em up in the salty stuff... I've used live bait, grubs, and the old mister twister shad baits. Quote
