Big-O Posted April 22, 2011 Posted April 22, 2011 I just returned from the Kentucky Lake Road trip and Ohhh Baby... It was GREAT We FISHED, Laughed, FISHED, BS'd, FISHED, shared stories and LIES, Ohhh and did I say we FISHED!!! Spent time with several folks that I've never had the opportunity to fish with and to say it was fun would be a "Big O UNDERSTATEMENT" .... we had a blast. I really enjoyed seeing old friends there, as well as making several new ones And We FISHED! Roadwarrior had a busy first day of fishing... After tossin' a bright colored Feather jig and a big Hook-set, "The jig Vanished" ... From what I understand, he's still looking for it CJ and I hopped in his boat early and ckd out the water for several hours. We basically ran around fishing a variety of different water types and depths to see what the fish were up to... caught'em with just about every technique we chose and got a good idea on how to approach the week, THANKS CJ. The following day, CWB fished with me and put on a Flippin' Clinic with a Falcon Craw colored Rage Craw here's his big Smallie of the day that was caught at "Turbulous Smallie Heaven" And this photo shows him up front taking charge of the RAGE Boat guiding me to new water and more Fish! The next day Steezy and RW jumped in the boat and we had a terrific day with Steezy putting the SMACKDOWN on'em with his new SECRET WEAPON lure "Rage Craw on a Keel weighted hook" and an 8'4" JAW JACK REDEMPTION ROD... RW and I just sat back in amazement as he commenced to put a Whoopin' on the fish And here was my favorite catch of the TRIP.... We caught a Big O Sturgeon Sunning on the rocks and he stayed long enough to let us get a close up photo of'em.... Getcha some of this why Dontcha! On my way home, I eased down to Pickwick to ck it out with a day on the water. After last years awesome trip, It was too close to avoid and Ohhh Baby, it was on fire too! As you can see... we had a pile of fun and can't wait till the next trip.... Hope everyone has a safe trip home and thanks for all of the GOOD TIMES! Big O www.ragetail.com Quote
Super User senile1 Posted April 22, 2011 Super User Posted April 22, 2011 I'm really sorry I missed you Big-O. I was only able to drop by Saturday night and I intended on meeting you but I didn't want to interrupt your conversation. I brought some Boulevard beer, and ghoti, GMAN, and I went outside to bring it all in. By the time we returned you had left. It sounds like some nice fish were hooked. I hope to meet you at one of these events in the future. Nice post! Quote
BassThumb Posted April 23, 2011 Posted April 23, 2011 Nice looking catches guys! Does RW have a Dobyns Champion in his hand instead of a GLX or Avid? It can't be... Did that 8' 4" rod fit in the rod locker? Quote
Big-O Posted April 23, 2011 Author Posted April 23, 2011 No Problem senile1, I'll see ya at the next one for sure and thanks for the Brew! And Bass Thumb, not sure of the rod RW had in his hand but the 8'4" rod Steezy was using at that moment was mine and YEP, it fits my rod box fine Big O www.ragetail.com Quote
Super User .ghoti. Posted April 23, 2011 Super User Posted April 23, 2011 Good to see you again Big-O. A treat as always. I started another thread when we got home, and told all that you bestowed a new name on RW. But i did not reveal what it was. You gotta tell this tale, buddy. Baits and PM sent your way. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted April 24, 2011 Super User Posted April 24, 2011 "Fluffy" Thank you! :D Quote
scrutch Posted April 24, 2011 Posted April 24, 2011 I was laughing until I read the story of how the Fluffy story happened. I think STEEZY could aptly be named Fluffy II. If the Steezamatic reads this, I'll let him tell the story. "Hats off" to ya Bob! Great fishing with ya! Quote
BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted April 24, 2011 BassResource.com Administrator Posted April 24, 2011 Keri and I JUST made it home! What a great week! Steezy was like a kid in a Candy Store... got bit in all kinds of water and all with the same bait and presentation. A real joy to watch he and RW in action! Big O www.ragetail.com Quote

A real joy to watch he and RW in action! Big O www.ragetail.com Very true Big O. I felt sorry for him trying to fish three in my 18 footer. He was so gracious and upbeat. It was so cold and windy and we were on top of each other in my boat. Steezy never uttered a hint of a complaint. I'd go fishing with him anytime, anywhere. I think I'd have enjoyed myself just as much if not more if I would have just watched RW, Steezy and you fish that dam at Kenlake. It's not very often I get an opportunity to watch a pro like you in action. Thanks for being so patient and gracious with us novices. I haven't forgotten... 1. Access to deep water. 2. Find what they like to eat. 3. Find what they like to eat more! I already KNOW what they like to eat! RAGE TAIL! Thanks a million!! Quote

You've got it Scrutch and remember along with the three points you noted... Find the "Change" in any given area that provides the best holding, ambush or security area. Transition areas are always fish magnets Enjoyed your company as well! Big O www.ragetail.com Quote
MaineBassMan Posted April 28, 2011 Posted April 28, 2011 Great photos and it looks like fun was had by all! Boy, those rocks look like they would do a number on your line! Quote
gotarheelz14 Posted April 29, 2011 Posted April 29, 2011 You guys looked like you had a blast. I will someday make it out on one of these trips. Maybe after I finally get finished with school Can someone please explain to me the picture of the "sturgeon on the rocks" lol. Is that supposed to be something funny or was there really a sturgeon underwater, over the rocks that I just can't see? haha thanks... Quote
