stkbassn Posted April 21, 2011 Posted April 21, 2011 Okay, I give up on having to spend a ton on a swimbait reel ....I need some opinions before I make my purchase.... Shimano Cardiff 300 or Daiwa Coastal.... Cardiff is going to cost me around $95 and the Daiwa is around $125..... WHICH ONE GUYS? Thanks... Quote
Super User KYntucky Warmouth Posted April 21, 2011 Super User Posted April 21, 2011 I've got a Cardiff 300A for a musky reel. Great reel for larger lines, should work perfectly for swimbaits. I prefer it over my Revo Toro. Quote
hookingem Posted April 21, 2011 Posted April 21, 2011 I have a Luna 300 for sale. great shape mechanically although it does have some boat rash. chucks swimbaits like a dream! Pm me Quote
Super User South FLA Posted April 21, 2011 Super User Posted April 21, 2011 I just bought a Daiwa Coastal to replace my Shimano Calcutta 200GTB on my swimbait setup and I really like it, not as buttery smooth as the Calcutta GTB, but much lighter. So I vote for the Daiwa Coastal. Quote

Thanks for the reply. I had a Cardiff and liked it before. My favorite swimbaiting reel was the Abu Inshore but I'm just not spending that kind of money right now for such a specific use. I just need one that does the job without breaking the bank. Thanks again! Quote
trevor Posted April 21, 2011 Posted April 21, 2011 I have the Coastal and after one season it has been a great reel. Quote
