junebugmn Posted April 19, 2011 Posted April 19, 2011 I recently went to Missouri to go to bass pro shop's and look around for a new boat well I did'nt end up with a boat, but the people there are the nicest and most courteous i've met in a while I also got to meet KVD he was there for a tournament or something I waited in line and got to shake his hand!!! Still have'nt washed it!!!!! But any way's I ended up finding another boat, a 1984 Astro glass 154 bass boat with a 90hp yamaha, very nice!! 2 owner, very clean for it's year, well the people I bought it from, the Hendrickson's from Collin's missouri, were the nicest people!! I won't forget them for as long as I live!! I was sad to leave those people, especially Harry, and his son they helped me out a lot when picking up the boat, now I know why they call Missouri the "show me state" The people showed me what a great place it is!! I hope all the people who live there are as proud as the Hendrickson family!!! Thank's!!! Junebugman Quote

CKFishin Posted April 27, 2011 Posted April 27, 2011 Ya... We are some pretty cool people... St. Louis however isn't so nice in most places... Quote
Super User cart7t Posted April 27, 2011 Super User Posted April 27, 2011 Ya... We are some pretty cool people... St. Louis however isn't so nice in most places... Huh? Quote
srv1990 Posted April 27, 2011 Posted April 27, 2011 Ya... We are some pretty cool people... St. Louis however isn't so nice in most places... I would disagree with the use of the word "most". There are certain areas which are not nice, and in fact can be very bad, and they give the rest of the area a bad rap. However, I suppose you can say that about many medium- to large-size cities. Heck, probably about a lot of small cities, too. Just my opinion as a life-long resident of the city. Quote
River Rat316 Posted May 11, 2011 Posted May 11, 2011 My wife's best friend moved down there this winter and she says the same thing, I can't wait until they get their own place.... then I have a place to crash if I can get down there in the spring to fish!! Quote
junebugmn Posted May 14, 2011 Author Posted May 14, 2011 Yes some day i'll live down there, it's true there are "bad" area's in a lot of town's everywhere! But at least we have bass fishing to help us forget the achey breakey trouble's of our daily live's, at least Missouri has the "golden corral's"!!!!!!Junebugman Quote
Fishing Doug Posted May 20, 2011 Posted May 20, 2011 Ya... We are some pretty cool people... St. Louis however isn't so nice in most places... Care to define "most places"???? I live in Clayton....is that included in your 'most places'? Quote
cufishin Posted May 23, 2011 Posted May 23, 2011 Care to define "most places"???? I live in Clayton....is that included in your 'most places'? I live in Fenton and work in midtown, Neither qualifies as Nirvana but I wouldn't call them bad areas. All cities this size have bad areas, some less, some more. But judging a city by it's least desirable qualities is a little like dropping a friend because they are too short or overweight. Quote
CKFishin Posted May 26, 2011 Posted May 26, 2011 d**n people get all upset. I'm talking about the physical city... Like I'm sure all of you know the state streets is a bad area... Sorry if I was too general but lots of areas that were nice when I was younger are going down hill... Anyone in stl or comming to visit there are tons of things to do here for kids and adults. The area has been getting a little better but poverty is not helping right now. Quote
Nick Posted May 29, 2011 Posted May 29, 2011 My wife's best friend moved down there this winter and she says the same thing, I can't wait until they get their own place.... then I have a place to crash if I can get down there in the spring to fish!! River Rat, When I get my Lake Ozark vacation home this fall, I'm going to invite you down for some sring or winter fishing. I think you have a great playground for bass fishing right out your backdoor on the Mighty Miss! I live very near St. Louis, and much of what folks read about our alarming violent crime stats are the result of the counties surrounding St. Louis not being factored into the crime numbers within the city itself. For the entire metro area, we rank on a par with just about every other top 50 metro area in America. Quote
