Ruger has announced its new 1911. Not a big surprise since they have been supplying castings to Caspian, a big custom shop, for some time now. But now Ruger will have its name on a USA-made gun. $799 MSRP. Nice looking piece, too...

looks like a slick piece. i really want a Remington R1. i spent 3 hours with one a few days back and would have spent more had my son not drained my ammo supply with a Cx4 Storm.

BTW........the Cx4 is a beast in .45!!

Yup, since New Years Day I've put over 2200 rounds through my SR40 without any FTF's or Jams.

Always been a fan. I have a 10/22 with Vulquartsen everything and it's a tack driver. Built back in the early 90's and still fires like a champ.

I bought one in May of 2011, it has over 2000 rds down the pipe now and not one flaw. I got my name on the list first at my LGS and was the first in the area to get one. Mine was $599.99 + tax. My second 1911 that I have ever bought, now I have 5.

I really like the plain jane 1911's like the new in '05 Auto Ordnance Army WW2 copy it has functioned and cycled right out of the box new for me and the first new 1911 out of three brand new top shelf others that didn't work right out of the box. The Springfield Armory G.I. Mil Spec as it was called also in 2005 has served me well too right out of the box too. One point is all the springfield armory 1911's all have forged slides and frames. I used a norinco for my very first 1911 build because of its forged slide and frame. My new AO is investment casted and i see no problems yet with it.

Lately i been thinking of getting a factory build 1911 with some goodies already in it. My choices are the new Ruger SR1911 and the Thompson Custom 1911a1 also. I'm kind of leaning towards the Thompson. There both in stainless.
