Hey all! Tell me when you are catching in North Carolina. Especially in rivers and lakes. Farm ponds do not challenge me anymore.

Thank you in advance.

How are you getting spotted sea trout from ponds? That's amazing! What I meant is that I can read a pond like no other, but knowing where to fish a lake (without a radar) I'm lost. Some people can look at a lake or river and know exactly where to toss their lures. Not me. Help me out.

Pictures! We all want pictures of those 30-40 fish!

Your looking for knees on the cypress trees. If you have wood next to grass you're better off. On the rivers you need to be beating the banks, for right now. Windy points with a lot of wood on it is good too. Had another high count fishing day today. Lots of short fish though. Out of about 20 fish I only had one keeper. The best spots usually have some cypress trees away from the shoreline. Even if it's only a small area toss your worm, frog or buzzbait behind the tree.

You need your own fishing show. That is great advise to send your bait to the knees and grass. Do you ever write articles?

Hey, are they restricted the same as spotted trout on the shore?

Hardly, I get on some good patterns every now and then, but I get the question mark over my head A LOT. I'm new to this east coast, shallow muddy water. Grew up fishing deep gin clear reservoirs in Az.

I'm from Edenton, NC and I seem to catch bass when I am not looking to but I can't when I'm trying. I fish with different types of lures but I am a beginner when it comes to bass fishing. I have not figured out all of the different techniques but I love to try. Fishing gives me peace and to catch a fish gives me joy. Can someone tell me how to fish for bass in the different weather conditions and the type of lures that go best with the water conditions.

The advantage of Bass fishing is that they are so agressive. If you happen upon them during spawning season, you only need to run any old hook across their bed and they will pick it up to move it off of their eggs. Otherwise they are opportunists in that they will always fall for something injured, slower than others the same, or tasty like worms, snakes, lizards, or crawdads. As a kid I used a live lizard ONE time and as soon as it hit the water I had an explosion of water where the Bass attacked and "SNAP!!!" my ten pound test line broke. I don't know if live lizards are socially acceptable as bait, but based on that one time I would recommend them to anyone. But there is also many plastic lizards available. I haven't had much luck with them and I think it's because I rig them like worms: carolina rig style.

Hope this helps a bit. Good luck!
