As some of you already know, I had some fishing line wrapped up in my TM shaft and I had to cut it out (along with cutting off my nose...look in Everthing Else forums). Well, my TM will run but every once in a while it will just not work and I have to pick it up and water drains from around the prop and it will work again. Sometimes is will last for hours and sometimes for minutes. The other day it didnt even work the first time I put it in the water, but I put it back on the trailor and the TM worked fine. The only thing I can figure out is a short in the wiring or that the line broke a seal of some sort. I have read how line around the shaft can tear up a unit, but I cant figure out how to fix the problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Yes, there is a seal on the prop shaft, and most likely the fishing line broke the seal.

It's pretty easy to take apart and replace the seal.

One thing you can check is take the top off the motor, and turn it upside down, and see if water comes out of the shaft, if it does, the seal is bad and water is getting in.
