Fat-G Posted April 18, 2011 Posted April 18, 2011 Right now, probably some Spro frogs, some braid, and some swim jigs. That changes a lot depending on what I'm in need of. Quote
Flangler Posted April 18, 2011 Author Posted April 18, 2011 Im in the market I think for a new spinning rod...and suggestions? Quote
Flangler Posted April 18, 2011 Author Posted April 18, 2011 Im in the market I think for a new spinning rod...and suggestions? I mean reel.... Quote
dhami013 Posted April 18, 2011 Posted April 18, 2011 If I had a hundred to blow on fishing, I'd get some yum f2 wooly bugs - killer for bed fishing in clear water. I'd get brush hogs, some flouro, some jigs, and a swim bait or two. If you're looking for a reel, I like anything abu garcia. Not too expensive and always going to last if you take care of it. Quote
SDoolittle Posted April 18, 2011 Posted April 18, 2011 I'd gas up my boat and actually have a full tank for once. Quote
zenyoungkoh Posted April 18, 2011 Posted April 18, 2011 I'd get some soft plastic frogs, worms. plastic swimbaits, crankbaits, jerkbaits Quote
Fat-G Posted April 18, 2011 Posted April 18, 2011 $100 for a spinning reel, get you a Sahara 2500, save $20, and buy some Rage Tails. Quote
Getfished Posted April 18, 2011 Posted April 18, 2011 I'd get me another curado or maybe even a citica. 1 Quote
tritz18 Posted April 18, 2011 Posted April 18, 2011 GMANS and Skinny Bear jigs and soft plastics, lots of soft plastics! Quote
Super User Grey Wolf Posted April 18, 2011 Super User Posted April 18, 2011 Save your money and buy a nice rod or reel later. Quote
dulouz Posted April 18, 2011 Posted April 18, 2011 Save your money and buy a nice rod or reel later. I agree. Do some research on what you want and then look around for sales. I picked up two reels I have been wanting, one 25% off and the other 50% off. Had I bought them when I had the urge, I would have paid full retail. Quote
Bass_Fanatic Posted April 19, 2011 Posted April 19, 2011 If you dont know what you want to buy, then you probably are "blowing" your money in the first place. Save it until you need it. $100 is too much money to throw out the window. Quote
Fish Chris Posted April 19, 2011 Posted April 19, 2011 Well, fortunately, my boat tank is only 6 gallons, and I typically might only use 2-3 gallons in a trip. But I filled my truck yesterday, just to get to the lake today and tommorow, and that cost me $112 ! So that's what I'd be spending $100 on for my fishing.... pretty much every week now for a while Fish Quote
OHIO Posted April 19, 2011 Posted April 19, 2011 Save your money and buy a nice rod or reel later. You can get a really nice spinning reel for less than $100. I think it's a little overkill to spend over $100 on a spinning reel, but that's just me. 1 Quote

My father told me when he started driving he could get a pack of smokes, a 6 pack, and fill up the tank for the whole night with 5 bucks! Man.....I wish! Quote
Crabcakes Posted April 19, 2011 Posted April 19, 2011 I'd use it for gas and other expenses and go fishing. Quote
Dalton Tam Posted April 20, 2011 Posted April 20, 2011 I'd save it and use it for launch fees. It costs me $4 to launch every time. When you fish as much as I do, that will add up. Quote
