Mich. St8 Spartan Posted April 17, 2011 Posted April 17, 2011 I have a Powell Spook/Trap rod 7'0". I like being ale to choose to throw a lipless crank or going with a hard-bodied top water like a Zara Spook, With that in mind, what line would you suggest? I was using 20# spiderwire but was thinking of going to something more "invisible" Because fluoro sinks I will not being using that. Is mono the best choice here since the lures have treble hooks? Mich. St8 Spartan Posted April 17, 2011 Author Posted April 17, 2011 10lb P-line CXX. Does copolymer sink? Quote
Super User SoFlaBassAddict Posted April 17, 2011 Super User Posted April 17, 2011 Personally, I use a 30 pound braid tied to a mono or co-poly leader. Co-poly does sink, but very slowly. Not enough that it will adversely effect the action of the lure unless you let it sit in place for a very long time. Quote
midnighthrasher Posted April 18, 2011 Posted April 18, 2011 Sufix Siege #12. X2 I baught a 3000 yard spool of it. Awesome line. Quote
Bass_Fanatic Posted April 18, 2011 Posted April 18, 2011 15lb Yozuri Hybrid or 15lb P-Line CXX Both are super strong and for ripping traps through grass your gonna want something heavier than 10-12lb line and plus the bigger line actually sits higher in the water to work a spook. For both of those presentation the fish will not be looking at the line, so size shouldn't spook fish. Quote
BassResource.com Advertiser FD. Posted April 18, 2011 BassResource.com Advertiser Posted April 18, 2011 I use berkely big game in 12# for my crank and topwater rods. Tough and plenty of stretch to keep those trebles in. Quote
