Mike D from Lunkerville Posted April 17, 2011 Posted April 17, 2011 Mikey "CUS" Cusano returns to Lunkerville. We had him on the show a couple years back and we had such a good time, we invited him back. Mike is the President of the NY State BASS Chapter Federation and this time we fish on Oneida Lake with the objective of catching all our fish on one bait: a rattling lipless crankbait. If you didn't watch this episode on WFN last week, you can check it out now online! All the Presiden't Fish - Part One Quote
Smalliesrule Posted April 20, 2011 Posted April 20, 2011 Terrible,,I don`t even see the point of making a show like that. Quote
Super User J Francho Posted April 20, 2011 Super User Posted April 20, 2011 Terrible,,I don`t even see the point of making a show like that. Yeah, having a good time on the water stinks, doesn't it? ********************************************************** Nice job with this one, Mike. Hopefully you recovered OK from the hooking, LOL. Super User bassfisherjk Posted April 20, 2011 Super User Posted April 20, 2011 Another great video Mike. Thanks! Quote
ripinthem Posted April 20, 2011 Posted April 20, 2011 Yeah, When you can catch Rock bass, Chain Pickeral, Northern Pike, Goo(Sheephead-whatever), Lrg and Sml Mouths; it just clutters up the production value. LOL! What a fishery!!! Quote

Super User J Francho Posted April 20, 2011 Super User Posted April 20, 2011 Not all TV shows are about teaching.....this was simply about the joy of catching fish, which BTW is sort of the ongoing theme of Lunkerville. If you don't like it, that's fine too. I didn't learn a thing while watching the movie Phone Booth last night, but I enjoyed the movie just the same. Quote

However, it is very hard for any fishing show to not teach *anyone* *anything*. Quote
Mike D from Lunkerville Posted April 20, 2011 Author Posted April 20, 2011 wow, "terrible" is a strong word! i've gotten "why does this dude have his own fishing show, he can't catch fish!"...i thought that was pretty bad... but terrible? LOL...it's OK... it only gives me an opportunity to explain what the show is about to new viewers... usually these responses come from first time viewers who are used to watching pro-fishermen hosted shows and then are caught off-guard when the watch my show... Lunkerville is different. with Lunkerville, i try to make each show unique... sometimes the episodes are more instructional ( the jighead series) and sometimes they're more about having a good time... and sometimes they're about something else... but i always try to tell a story... i let the guest and fishing day dictate what that story will be... the show features mostly everyday anglers, not professionals (although we will occasionally feature a professional) what i do hope is that viewers find the program entertaining and different then all the other fishing shows on TV. we've had some good success... we're in our 7th year of broadcast on TV... we just made a deal with PBS to expand our viewership beyond World Fishing Network... and you can still watch the show for free on the web a couple weeks after it airs on TV... most people enjoy the show i think... but like anything, you can't please all the people all the time, and i understand that. anyway, it's all good... thanks J and guys for watching my back! Big Fish Rice Posted April 21, 2011 Posted April 21, 2011 Mike, as a long time fan (and as a future guest) I have to say that Lunkerville is unlike any other show on television. I get tired of watching pro's bang out catch after catch, not even to admire their fish. Tournament fishing is exciting and I'm proud to be an FLW member, but sometimes a show like Lunkerville is refreshing, especially when you can sit back and enjoy fishing for what it's worth. Like stated already, you can't please everyone. Just know that you have a huge fan base and we all admire your hard work and ingenuity when it comes to creating each and every show. Hats off to you my friend. Quote
hootersdoug Posted April 21, 2011 Posted April 21, 2011 I really like the format of your show. Catching fish IS what it is all about. If we could all have a lunker pond like Bill Dance, we'd be putting 5 to 6 pounders in our boat all day also, but we dont have that luxury. Keep up the good work. BTW, you should start a Psychic Fishing Hotline!! Quote

Mike D from Lunkerville Posted April 22, 2011 Author Posted April 22, 2011 ah man... i'm loving the love!... i'm off to florida next week to fish with my childhood fishing pal who i've seen once in 30+ years and with a few folks i met on the facebook lunkerville page ( i know they have a passion for bassin, so they'll be featured on the show this season)... STAY TUNED!... THANKS BR! (and Glenn, the new BR logo premieres on the show May 3rd on WFN.) Quote
SGT Rico Posted April 22, 2011 Posted April 22, 2011 Keep up the great work Mike!! Unlike other shows, I can actually relate to yours. Your show and a select others, are the only shows I bother watching. Its truly a pleasure to tune in and watch average people fishing and having a good time. Quote
