Super User Dwight Hottle Posted April 15, 2011 Super User Posted April 15, 2011 Hit the lake yesterday for the first time. Found the water to be pretty dirty with visibility around a foot or two. Water surface temp close to shore was 43-44 degrees. Tried in shallow between 8-12 feet. Missed one on a hair jig & then another one on a jerk bait. Decided to look for cleaner water further down the shore line. Found clean water in 25-30 feet but water temps at the surface were now 38-39 degrees. As the wind picked up out of the east there developed an edge between the dirty & clean water around 15-20 fow. I decided to work the edge as the temps were a little warmer & visibility was much better. Changed colors on my lc poiter 100 jerkbait & finally got bit. Nice size smallie for the first brown fish of 2011. Quote
