gotarheelz14 Posted April 15, 2011 Posted April 15, 2011 So I tried doing a search and got a lot of "which worm floats the best". I don't know if this is exactly fair though because a lot of worms which don't float still "stand up" great and have great actions. I really like the Zoom trick worms but sometimes I wish I had something with a lot more action. What do you yall like? Thanks! Carlos Quote

I've used them off and on for 3-4 years now, but never really thought about it. I've also used the Squirrel Tail when I can keep the bluegill off it, and the Big Show. Bog Show is a fun worm to fish. CRANKSTER Posted April 15, 2011 Posted April 15, 2011 I really like the Roboworm Zipper shakin worms. Quote

jeb2 Posted April 15, 2011 Posted April 15, 2011 I've tried a bunch, but the good old Zoom Finesse worm still has the most catches for me on a shakey head. Quote
FL_Sharpshooter Posted April 15, 2011 Posted April 15, 2011 I think the kind of shaky head you're using plays a big part on this. Gambler's giggy head forces a plastic to stand up on end. They should still be on sale as well as Dick's for $4/pack too . I prefer to use roboworm's straight tail worm with them, those are also on sale at Dick's for $3/pack (only in color green weenie). soccplayer07 Posted April 15, 2011 Posted April 15, 2011 Robo Zipper. Just wish they lasted longer... Quote
bassin is addicting Posted April 15, 2011 Posted April 15, 2011 as others have said.. trick worm ... has more action than you might think.. zoom finesse worm hags tornado gycb kut tail Quote
Blues19 Posted April 15, 2011 Posted April 15, 2011 Ive done really well on a zoom centipede. I like a regular zoom finesse worm as well though. Just started throwing the strike king 3x style worm. It seems cool since it stands straight up, but i worry about skin hooking it cause im not sure if the plastic will rip enough to allow the fish to get the hook in its mouth. Quote
SwimJigs Posted April 15, 2011 Posted April 15, 2011 Roboworm Straight Tail for me. I also like the GrandeBass Rattlesnake. Quote
Super User CWB Posted April 16, 2011 Super User Posted April 16, 2011 Strike King Elaztech Super Finesse. Floats up, stays on hook, and lasts forever (almost). Quote

Super User RoLo Posted April 19, 2011 Super User Posted April 19, 2011 > Gambler 7” Big Stick (Man-sized version of Giggy Stick) > Strike King 7” ElazTech Finesse worm (AKA: Cyberflexxx & 3x worm) There's lots of speak about "shaky heads" but in truth the worm is more critical than the head. Any worm that's heavier than water (sinking worm) can seriously downgrade the performance of the jighead. To my knowledge, the highest floating worms available are the Big Stick and 3x worm. Due to their inherent buoyancy, these two worms maintain an 'erect tail' that transmits every flick & shake without any help from the jighead. Roger 1 Quote

Carlos Try Strike Kings Elaztech 3x Finesse Worm, comes in 4 & 7 inch length. They really can take a beating and they will float. Also Gambler makes whats called a Giggy Stick also a great bait which no one seems to have ever heard of when I mention it. Quote

Super User ww2farmer Posted April 20, 2011 Super User Posted April 20, 2011 I have had good results on just about any straight tail worm I have ever put on a jig head. Zoom trick and finesse, Net Bait T-mac and finesse worms, Berkley Shaky , slim shaky, and hand poured finesse, GYCB kut tails, 3" and 4" senkos, 4" and 6" Roboworms.........and the list goes on. This year I have a bunch of SK 3x, and SK KVD perfect plastic worms to try. Why?................Why not??? I guess I don't have one favorite, they all work. Quote
pat_walker_fishing Posted April 20, 2011 Posted April 20, 2011 My fav is a zoom swamp crawler or a roboworm in aarons magic Quote
