buzzbait4me Posted April 14, 2011 Posted April 14, 2011 Im looking on picking up a new baitcaster. What out of these two reels do you guys like the best. Also do you guys suggest any other reels in the 100 dollar range? Thanks for the help Quote
Fat-G Posted April 14, 2011 Posted April 14, 2011 Never even held the Wright and Mcgill, but I would still recommend the Citica! 1 Quote
hookingem Posted April 14, 2011 Posted April 14, 2011 IMO there is NO competition here! I mess with the W&M at work and they just overall feel cheap. even casted one and something about it just isn't exactly "WRIGHT" hahah. I cast my Citica all day long into the wind with a little 1/4 crankbait without issues. Besides Shimano's Customer relations is superb. Go with the Citica you will not be disappointed. Quote
jignfule Posted April 14, 2011 Posted April 14, 2011 I own Calais, chronarch, curado. My son owns a citica. For the money it is hard to beat a citica. Quote
The one that got away Posted April 14, 2011 Posted April 14, 2011 Never even held the Wright and Mcgill, but I would still recommend the Citica! Ditto Quote
Senkoman12 Posted April 14, 2011 Posted April 14, 2011 the w&m victory is terrible. i would go with citica. i also reccommend the BPS PQ also. very solid reel 2 Quote
Super User SoFlaBassAddict Posted April 14, 2011 Super User Posted April 14, 2011 It's pretty hard to beat the Citica at that price point. The BPS Pro Qualifier is another great reel for a few bucks less. You can often find them on sale for about 80 bucks. At that price, they're a steal. Quote
central.PA.bass Posted April 14, 2011 Posted April 14, 2011 I would definitely go with the W&M Victory reel... Shimano's stink! Quote
Super User Grey Wolf Posted April 15, 2011 Super User Posted April 15, 2011 I would definitely go with the W&M Victory reel... Shimano's stink! WHY ?????????? Quote
WdyCrankbait Posted April 15, 2011 Posted April 15, 2011 I am going to say Shimano, for sure! I have 2 Curados, but look at it from this stand point AJ (Hookingem) is leading to a good point. Shimano has been around FOREVER! You are not going to last this long if you do not make good equipment. Quote
Super User webertime Posted April 15, 2011 Super User Posted April 15, 2011 Sarcasm! classic... Quote
Super User Grey Wolf Posted April 15, 2011 Super User Posted April 15, 2011 Sarcasm! You must be a quantam guy. Quote
Super User webertime Posted April 15, 2011 Super User Posted April 15, 2011 This is like asking about a fully loaded Kia (W&M) vs. a base model Honda Accord (citica). One's got cool stuff, the other works and lasts. Quote
A-Rob Posted April 19, 2011 Posted April 19, 2011 Citica I've never had a problem with mine and simply just recommend them Quote
Bass_Fanatic Posted April 19, 2011 Posted April 19, 2011 I would definately go with the Citica over the W&M, but dont over look the Pflueger Trion. Quote
