trevor Posted April 13, 2011 Posted April 13, 2011 Just curious how many others on here will be watching the playoffs. And any predictions? I am a Philly fan, but Buffalo's gonna be hard to beat. I think Vancouver or San Jose will win the cup this year. I honestly don't think any team in the east can compete. Quote
backwater4 Posted April 13, 2011 Posted April 13, 2011 Let's Go Rangers! Aside from fishing, it's nothing but hockey all year long also. The western teams just play a different style. If you can't tie them up, you better be able to counteract with equal speed. If it's not the Rangers, I wouldn't mind Anahiem going far. Quote
quanjig Posted April 13, 2011 Posted April 13, 2011 The Rangers????? Too many injuries, not enough fire power. Lunquist will make it interesting against my Caps, but I think we can do away with them in 6. Not sure if caps will make it to the Eastern finals but I can dream!! Plus you guys blew it last game of the year last year and this year had to win your final game and have Carolina loose to make it this year. Stranger things have happened. Philly went to the finals last year by getting in as #8 on the final game of the reg. season with a win!! Quote
Super User Jigfishn10 Posted April 13, 2011 Super User Posted April 13, 2011 The Eastern Conference had a lot of teams bunched up with a 100 or more points, so the team that goes for the cup will probably be the team with the hottest goalie (cliche, I know). Hard to look past the Canucks in the West. Guess what team I'll be rooting for in the East? Quote
backwater4 Posted April 13, 2011 Posted April 13, 2011 Caps goaltending is iffy at best. I'm not saying the Rangers are going to do anything great, but thats my team, I'm not going against them. Caps should'nt underestimate them, they've done well against them all year. Unfortunately, my son has tryouts tonight, so I'll be watching from a rink. (hopefully they have MSG network) Quote
GTrombly Posted April 13, 2011 Posted April 13, 2011 Let's go Bruins! Can't wait for the game. It should be a great series if the prior games are any indication. Quote
Super User bilgerat Posted April 13, 2011 Super User Posted April 13, 2011 I'm a Flyers fan also, but if they don't get their heads out of their arses (and get Pronger back into the lineup),they aint going anywhere. Quote
Super User Lund Explorer Posted April 13, 2011 Super User Posted April 13, 2011 In all fairness, whenever Luongo lets one get past him, the Sedin Bros seem to have little trouble chalking a up one or two for their side. With steady play coming from every direction, I'll take Vancouver! I remember when the Red Wings used to play the same way. But that isn't the way it is this year. Quote
The one that got away Posted April 14, 2011 Posted April 14, 2011 I will pick the Bruins, and hope I'm not wrong for the 39th year in a row. Quote
Sfritr Posted April 14, 2011 Posted April 14, 2011 GO REDWINGS!!!!!!!!! Their issue is going to be spotty goaltending. They are just going to have to outscore their opposition. Can't stand Jimmy Howard but can watch Datsuk and Lidstrom all day. Quote
Uncle Leo Posted April 14, 2011 Posted April 14, 2011 Blackhawks got whipped last night, they say a repeat in hockey is difficult anyway, oh well. Quote
zero limit Posted April 14, 2011 Posted April 14, 2011 Blackhawks got whipped last night, they say a repeat in hockey is difficult anyway, oh well. Hang in there, I would not use the phrase whipped. The Hawks hit the goal post 3 or 4 times and could have won that game. Aside from the first 10 min. they out played Vancover. the last 2 yrs. Vancover has won the opening game and went on to lose the series to the Hawks. Now I dont think They can repeat but they will beat Vancover and then Who knows? As much as this pains me to say I think Detroit has the team .So my picks for the finals is an original 6 match up. Detroit over Boston Quote

tritz18 Posted April 14, 2011 Posted April 14, 2011 Bruins will be hoisting the Stanley Cup this year, there is no stopping Tim Thomas. GO BRUINS! 1 Quote
GrundleLove Posted April 14, 2011 Posted April 14, 2011 Die hard bruins fan...but also a realist Finals will be Vancouver vs. Boston...with Vancouver taking the series in 5. Quote
trevor Posted April 14, 2011 Author Posted April 14, 2011 Whoa found out this morning my dad and I are going to the Sabers Flyers game tonight! Its my first ever playoff attending, so I'm needless to say very excited. Quote
midnighthrasher Posted April 16, 2011 Posted April 16, 2011 GO MONTREAL!!!!!!!! Boston is going to choke!!!!!!! Quote
crappiekid24 Posted April 17, 2011 Posted April 17, 2011 I think the Blackhawks will take out Vancouver. 1 Quote
zero limit Posted April 18, 2011 Posted April 18, 2011 I think the Blackhawks will take out Vancouver. I hope your right, But things are not looking to good right now Quote
TimJ Posted April 18, 2011 Posted April 18, 2011 I'm a Leaf fan so what do I know? lol Vancouver should win it all...forwards to burn, the D is together right now and Luongo is all-world...as long as everyone stays healthy, D especially. out of the east, I think Pittsburgh should go since they did so well all year without Crosby and Malkin. D and Fleury and a physical front end are playing well. great playoff action to come. TJ Quote
Super User bilgerat Posted April 18, 2011 Super User Posted April 18, 2011 .....and back here in Philadelphia it's time for another round of GOALIE ROULETTE !!! Spin the wheel and find out who's in the pipes tonight... Quote
Super User A-Jay Posted April 19, 2011 Super User Posted April 19, 2011 Boston's not ready to head for the links just yet ~ Tim Thomas was flopping all over the ice but came away with the win ! A~Jay Quote
Hyrule Bass Posted April 21, 2011 Posted April 21, 2011 Believe. CAPS. GO CAPS!!! What a comeback that was last night, i went to bed after the first overtime, glad to wake up and see they got the win. they dont have the pressure and expectations this year as they did last year... BOOOOOOO!!!!!! There is no way that you will ever catch me (a Maple Leafs fan) cheering for the Canadians. be careful or you might offend them, its CanadiEns LOL. anyways i will always hate them, especially after they took the caps out in round 1 last year, got to admit, that goalie, Halak, played lights out in that series last year. im not huge on hockey, slowly getting into it the last 3 years or so, but that may be the best stretch by a goalie i ever seen...
