Personel preferance issue. Impossible to answer . Any rod in the 100-300 dollar range qualifies and there are a lot of great rods out there.

6'6" med/hvy , fast action is a good all around rod , pick your brand.

One that handles the area/cover that I'm fishing as well as the technique.

There will never be a single "best." Each person is specific in their likes or dislikes.

For the last 3 months all my freshwater rods have been sitting idle in favor of a saltwater inshore 7' med 8/17 rod that has been my bass mainstay, I can do anything with this rod.
