Flangler Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 I bought the KVd signature series baitcaster at Bps on sale for 99.99. I fished with it for 4 days then returned it. The crank handles started to fall off and the main shaft started to get real loose. And ever so often when casting it, the release button would lock after throwing it, making a grinding sound, and whipping the bait back towards me. So, I got the Bps PT tournament series and am very happy. Thought I would share if anybody was looking at that reel. Lyle Quote
ChiCityBasser Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 Both the black and red BPS exclusive spinning reel which I owned for a weekend and return and the casting model have had problems at least in my experience with the spinnng model. I have and use plenty of Quantum reels and returned the spinning model after a couple days use. Do yourself a favor if you are looking at these reels and step up to any of the Quantum PT models. JBoz Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 I echo your experience, I just waited too long to return it and now they won't take it back..... grrr Quote
Mattyvac Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 I have 4 quantum codes and have never had a problem. Only issue I've had was when I submerged one in water while kayak fishing, I lubed it when I got home and it's 99%. Quote

I'm def. not bashing Quantum I just didn't have a good experience with them. I'm starting off cheaper til I get better with the baitcaster. Quote

I would recommend the Quantum Accurist PT in either the 500 series(older model),the new Accurist PT or the Kinetic PT. Never had a problem with my Accurist PT 501 and its going into its 4 year of service. Quote
