fished john's tourny out of belle glade. stayed close and caught fish all day. had 17 pounds and went to see what was leading, and it was crazy. 34,32, 29, 28, 28. needles to say, we let our 17 pounds go. still lots of fish and the water is actually up (11.58). it was hot and at times there was no wind. the lake is amazing.

Those are some insane weights!

I was outside doing yard work today and the wind was so calm. I was day dreaming about how calm the lake must have been.

Glad you had a fantastic day Bruce. It must have been gorgeous.

Our club had a two day out of Lakeport. Everybody had high double-digit and the leaders each day mid 20s. It didn't metter where you went. Basically, you catch 2-3s all day and throw in the occasional 4-7#s. And, the fish are insane. 2's pulling drag and fighting like smallies.

If the Corps and SFWMD don't screw it up, the Lake is going to be great for a very long time.

It was crazy fun Saturday! We were just playing around, getting 11 yr old on fish and easily caught 50. He caught at least 10 by himself (after he learned how to work the fluke). If we'd bother weighing them, we would have averaged 15-16 lbs.

Twice Kevin and I doubled up on bass, both times I'm watching Kevin work one out of the reeds and I'd get slammed right next to the boat on my jig. I'd ge saying: "Alright.way to go Hun... Whoa.. I have one too!!"

I meant to mention this incident on Saturday. Hooked up with a smallish keeper. It jumped out of patch of Kissimmee grass....along with an 8-10#+ which jumped right next to it at the same time, behind it. I am convinced the pig was planning to eat my runt-that is how crazy and aggressive these fish are right now.

More apt to be trying to eat your bait competing for the food, but they will cannibalize, many of little bass have been spit up in my live well.

I threw skinny dipper next to some reeds and watched a small keeper bass leap out of water and dive right on top of the dipper. I was saying "go for it little guy!!" That was at 1:00pm and we left them still busting in the grass.

I took the youngest to Lake O, near J&S, east wall area. We trolled in and just looked for bait getting busted on top. We set him up with a fluke and left the hook exposed. He caught 10 in 1/2 hour.

They were hitting on cranks too, but I didn't want to dodge treble hooks until he got better at his casting and hook sets. The fluke (watermelon red)was catching the bigger fish.

But I think it was any where they were schooling. They were feeding like crazy all over. Michael was a worn out, very happy camper, who is ready to go back to Lake O any time.

Bruce,

I had a 27lb bag yesterday in three hours fishing by myself. I would have been well over 30 by noon, had I had nothing else but a net...

You're right...the lake is amazing.

Took my father-in-law out today landed exactly 51, biggest only went 3 1/2! Had a bigger fish 6 to 8lbs follow and flash at the end of the day. I know where the BIGGER ONES are, but my boat could not get me in that 8" water to get to the deeper stuff behind it ;) Fishing is so good there I am making it a point to go a least once a week!
