Flangler Posted April 10, 2011 Posted April 10, 2011 I recently purchased some Bomber lures, the 4A divers, and have been really impressed with them! I'm using the 4-6ft divers because thats the depth I'm fishing in. They have great action, and run straight and true. And you really can't pass up the price. Shad and chartruese have been working great for me. The only draw back I found is that one of the treble hooks broke. Thought I would share the expierence. Quote
jdw174 Posted April 10, 2011 Posted April 10, 2011 I've been fishing Bombers for many years and have never had one that didn't run true right from the get-go. You can find some good buys on them on the lurenet.com website. Quote

SkilletSizeBass. Posted April 10, 2011 Posted April 10, 2011 I've fished the Bomber model 6a and 7a for years, and its still one of my most productive cranks on some local watersheds. I do best on the firecraw(red & yellow) and the brown craw colors. Quote

If it is I almost picked one up today! I've been having alot of luck on the foxy shad. Thats my go to bait so far, it almost always produces! Quote
hookset on 3 Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 Love Bombers. I always swap out the trebles to either Owner ST36 or Gamakatsu short shank EWG. really sturdy lures that last a long time. Quote

That sounds like a plan! I was going to but I just swapped a hook form a broken lure. Typically what size hook? Do you like the round or oval split rings? Quote

Do you like the round or oval split rings? Round on hooks, oval on line ties if I ever have to change them for some reason. On Bomber 4A, it'sll be a size 6 treble, you can go up a size on the belly hook if you go to a short shank hook, as well. Quote

I really hate when they break, and I always use those brand hooks with my worms and flukes, so I know they are great! Thanks Again for the help! Quote
Super User 5bass Posted April 11, 2011 Super User Posted April 11, 2011 The Bomber 4A in brown craw is a favorite of mine this time of year. The Real Craw series they just put out has accounted for numerous bass on my last 2 outings. Ditch Craw color. Quote

Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted April 17, 2011 Global Moderator Posted April 17, 2011 Bombers are probably one of the best cheaper crankbaits out there. The 4F Fat "A" is what my PB for a long time came on. I love the little square A. Wal Mart always has them in the assortment bin for 1.97 in some pretty good colors. I let my wife fish with them and she catches fish like crazy on them things! I got one of the natural craw model A's that has the eyes on the back of the bait that I can't wait to try! Quote
MJB_215 Posted April 18, 2011 Posted April 18, 2011 Just got a bunch of bomber square bills from dicks and bps. The baby bass got me a fish first cast. Then I threw a craw and firetiger and the stupid pickerel kept taking them. Bass havent been biting too much yet, but im sure they will be very productive for me. So far I like them Quote
Super User Micro Posted April 19, 2011 Super User Posted April 19, 2011 Bombers are bread-and-butter crankbaits. They are cheap and they work. Great brand of crankbait. Bomber Balsa Model Bs are good balsa baits. Mine catch a lot of fish. They are a high-value bait since they fill your livewell and don't cost a whole lot. Quote
Flangler Posted April 19, 2011 Author Posted April 19, 2011 Yea I picked up the real craw 3 pack at Dicks. I haven't used them yet but can't wait. As far as them being cheap I agree but all I think is cheap is the hooks. JUst switch em' out and you have a great lure I believe! Quote
