Super User Marty Posted April 9, 2011 Super User Posted April 9, 2011 The App Tabs feature allows you to keep multiple sites open all the time while taking up very little space on the Tabs bar. All the sites open when the browser is opened. My question is, is there a downside to having multiple sites open all the time? Or, in other words, are there any reasons to not use this feature? Quote
Super User .dsaavedra. Posted April 9, 2011 Super User Posted April 9, 2011 i don't see why not... i have this site on an app tab and i haven't noticed any slowed performance if that is what you're asking. otherwise i'd just constantly have it open as a regular tab anyway Quote
tipptruck1 Posted April 10, 2011 Posted April 10, 2011 I usually have open between 2-5 tabs at a time. At the tabs I usually have this site, a few sim racing sites, a few racing sites, and maybe facebook. The sim racing sites and real racing sites are loaded with high res pictures. I don't notice any thing. They only time I notice any thing is when I am trying to download more then a few mods for my racing sims. But that could also be me over working my internet. All I know is my buddys hate my 5 tabs open at once. The will jump on my computer to look at some stuff and they get lost. I don't know how I got along with out tabs. Quote
Super User SirSnookalot Posted April 10, 2011 Super User Posted April 10, 2011 Google chrome has the tabs and it's nice feature but I don't live by it and seldom use it. After using firefox 4 for a few days I went back to firefox 2, the performance was better. Quote

Super User SirSnookalot Posted April 11, 2011 Super User Posted April 11, 2011 Really, I have the new Firefox 4 and its much faster. I didn't see much difference in the speed, chrome is faster than both, but the web pages were sharper and easier to read on firefox 2........I did play with the resolution and adjusted my text size. I think much of it has to do with one's own personal computer and not the browser itself. Quote
