lynyrdsky1 Posted April 7, 2011 Posted April 7, 2011 My left hand, mostly from the ring finger to the pinkee, is swollen and hurts to move. I've iced and have taken anti-inflammatories to help and it has some, but I'm worried I won't be 100% for my tournament. Is there anything I can do to help. I havn't wrapped it yet cause I have to write with my left as well. Quote
lynyrdsky1 Posted April 7, 2011 Author Posted April 7, 2011 Did you break something? Yea..... left a hole in the guys bathroom at my school.I don't want to talk about it. Quote
GTrombly Posted April 7, 2011 Posted April 7, 2011 Yea..... left a hole in the guys bathroom at my school.I don't want to talk about it. Well you're going to have to get it checked so if anything is broken it can heal correctly. And punching people is much better on the hands, they're softer than walls. 1 Quote
CSimon2 Posted April 7, 2011 Posted April 7, 2011 Get it checked out. Better to deal with it now than have issues the rest of your life. Quote

Super User Grey Wolf Posted April 7, 2011 Super User Posted April 7, 2011 Have you seen a Dr. yet ? Are anger management classes a good idea ? Quote
GTrombly Posted April 7, 2011 Posted April 7, 2011 Yea but you don't go to jail for punching walls Maybe, if the school wanted to do something about it. I just don't get why people punch hard things and break their hands. Seems silly to me. Quote
lynyrdsky1 Posted April 7, 2011 Author Posted April 7, 2011 Have you seen a Dr. yet ? Are anger management classes a good idea ? No..... shrink is the reason why my anger is so bad cause he has me medicated on nuvigil, abilify, and paxel which helps me with narcolepsy but makes me like a ticking time bomb. I already helped fix the whole. I felt really bad about causing the whole in the first place. Quote

Super User Jigfishn10 Posted April 7, 2011 Super User Posted April 7, 2011 You gotta go an get it checked out. Like CSimon2 points out, you could have problems down the line. Sheesh, I'd hate to be with you if a 5 lber comes unbuttoned. Quote

Sheesh, I'd hate to be with you if a 5 lber comes unbuttoned. Haha naaaa Fishing is one thing that helps me keep my cool no matter what happens. If I got like a 6 pounder during a tournament...well.... that's another story haha Quote
Super User grimlin Posted April 7, 2011 Super User Posted April 7, 2011 If you broke something, good luck. You might just be missing fishing.Go to a doctor, because broke bones do heal incorrectly if not taken care of the right way.I was in a cast for 3 months last year due to a broke wrist....it was NO FUN. No matter what you do right now,you will have problems and will have to work through the pain if you are actually able to fish. It's gonna suck for you. No more punching walls, find some rotating Chinese balls(Baoding balls) or something... Quote
Super User .dsaavedra. Posted April 7, 2011 Super User Posted April 7, 2011 punch mirrors then dance around with your bleeding hand like in Apocalypse Now Quote
lynyrdsky1 Posted April 7, 2011 Author Posted April 7, 2011 punch mirrors then dance around with your bleeding hand like in Apocalypse Now My coach said " you've ever seen Karate Kid 2" and showed me where he punched in a window and had to have surgery on his arm and how he almost died from loss of blood. That scared the crap out of me. Quote
Super User Lund Explorer Posted April 7, 2011 Super User Posted April 7, 2011 If you did it in school, what did the school nurse have to say? Sounds like time to see a doctor, or you'll be typing on here with one good hand and a cripple. That excuse probably won't work with those future mis-spellings! And make some kind of notation about this day that you can look back on in another 40 years when Mr. Arthur Itis comes to visit you. In the short term.... I Hope you have a couple of spinning rods that you can hold with your right hand this weekend. Quote
lynyrdsky1 Posted April 7, 2011 Author Posted April 7, 2011 We do not have a nurse. I am trying to get an appointment for tomorrow to get an x-ray so my plan to pre-fish tomorrow has been canceled.... Quote

Fat-G Posted April 8, 2011 Posted April 8, 2011 My uncle left a HUGE dent in his fridge. That man is a beast. He's a cop. He showed me how he arrests people. I'm a pretty big and strong kid, but he kicked my A-S-S. He's just a diesel. Quote

Super User Bassn Blvd Posted April 8, 2011 Super User Posted April 8, 2011 You probably have a boxer's fracture. Very common amongst fighters. I had one several years ago and had to wear a cast. Go to the doctor for an x-ray or you will be SORRY later in life. BUT, if you just want to "deal with it" for your tournament then just grow a set and suck it up. Quote
