Hello i just got the dobyns savvy 7 ft ml drop shot rod now its time for a spinning reel i got 100 bucks to spend i have a 3000fd sahara lying around will that work good or should i get a 2000 or 2500? thx

I have a Sahara 3000FD on my ***** reese drop shot rod and it's great. I think the 2500 would be ok also as your wont be getting spooled by any freshwater fish anyway....unless it's a 60lb gar :lol:

i just got my savvy 7ft M and love it!! i got a Pflueger Supreme on it and feels good and light!! I love the rod!!

For Shimano i like the 2500 size...

I would prefer a 2500 sized reel on a ML 7' rod.

BTW, is your name in reference to the comedian and creator of Seinfeld, Larry David? Curb Your Enthusiasm - Season 8 starts on July 10th. My favorite show ever!!

I think he'll be alright, the 3000 and 2500 Shimano reels are the same size, the 3000 just has a deeper spool.
