So I just purchased a new to me Jon Boat. It came with a 3 hp sears gamefisher and a 24lb thrust Minn Kota trolling motor. I need to purchase a battery for the trolling motor. I may also need to run a fishfinder off of the battery in the future. But for right now it's just the trolling motor. Does anyone have any suggestions. So far I think I have 2 choices.

1. Cabela's Advanced Angler AGM Battery. Which is the one I'm leaning toward. 850 cranking amps. 670 cold cranking 38lbs. 155 + shipping.

2. Bass Pro Shops® XPS® 12-Volt Deep Cycle Marine Battery. 240 cranking amps. 200 cold cranking amps. 24lbs. 120 and I would not have to pay for shipping b/c I have a BPS near by.

Are there any others I should consider. Is the Cabellas worth the extra money.

Bang for buck Walmart Everstart Marine.

Top of the line Sears/Kmart Platinum Marine Series.

Don't mail order batteries unless have a Kmart, Sears, or Wal-Mart, never no if you battery has a dead cell or other issue. Shipping gets expensive especially with HEAVY batteries.

Walmart Everstart Marine batteries are good...

Also, if you can find a Big Momma battery, they are good. I have had mine for years and it is still holding up like new!

Yea I just got 2 Walmart's Everstart 29 series. One ran my 50 lb no prob for the day. Never use the other new one yet didn't have to. It's great now they brought back the warranties, 18 months. Bye advise even with Walmart the prices varies so one store might cost more than the other. Here in Va I paid $75 for each of mine but another store had the same battery for $85, to me that was a big deal.

i have ran walmart deep cycle batteries for last few years...no probs! I would be scared of shipping fees on a heavy battery like that if ordering online...
