lynyrdsky1 Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 I bought Spiderwire braid and it was horrible. Knoted up, bunched up, and tore in places. The fibers were all frayed up in many spots. I'm not going to use braid for awhile. Quote
Sloan Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 I have used spiderwire braid and did not care for it. It seemed to fray and discolor to fast. I use sufix performance braid now and love it. Been using it for a couple of years. Quote
The Doctor Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 Dude, I'm sure it is the line as your others work fine.... but just in case, check the eyes of your rod, make sure there is nothing fraying that braid. Nobody wants any heart breakers! Quote
CWilliams Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 I think you have come to the same conclusion that most of us have over the years. Spend your money elsewhere. Quote
OHIO Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 I have found nothing wrong with Spiderwire Stealth. It's a smooth and strong braid. As far as the other Spiderwire braids go, they are horrible. Which did you have? Quote
Canga Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 i used stealth for a long time, with no problems at all (all on spinning gear), dont recall even 1 wind knot, or any fraying. that being said, i have switched over to sufix 832 10lb this year on all my spinning stuff, its just so quiet through the guides and casts a mile (it sinking is a nice bonus). only been out a couple times for 'eyes thus far, but loving 832 Quote
jokerjp Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 Just stick with Suffix for your braid needs. I don't mind power pro either, but I prefer Suffix for all rsetups that use braid. I gave up on both Spiderwire and Fireline a few years ago when I discovered the advantages of the higher quality braids Quote
ChiCityBasser Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 I'm using Spiderwire UltraCast Flouro Braid in 30# 8 on both a spinning reel and a baitcast reel this season. I have been out several times with both and no problems at all. It's holding up well so far. Quote
Bass_Fanatic Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 Suffix Performance braid and 832...nuff said! Quote
Mattyvac Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 Spiderwire is the WORST. PowerPro is all I use, I may one day try out Suffix 832 though. Quote
Flywatersmallie Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 I don't hate Spiderwire Stealth in the smaller sizes. Its not at the same level as Toray Finesse Braid or Daiwa Samurai but its cheap. Power Pro is ok too, the 832 as well. The light Toray is the best I have used for spinning tackle, but its pretty expensive. Quote

Super User Grey Wolf Posted April 6, 2011 Super User Posted April 6, 2011 Thank God , I thought you had misplaced that picture !!!!!!!! Quote
lynyrdsky1 Posted April 6, 2011 Author Posted April 6, 2011 I guess since this was the first braid i tried, it left a bad taste in my mouth but, I'll probably try power pro or Sufix 832 based on the reviews and also since the only mono I use is Sufix I have experience with them and trust their products. OHIO Posted April 8, 2011 Posted April 8, 2011 That's weird that you had problems with the Stealth. I haven't had a single one. Quote
