NateFollmer Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 I think you all have probably noticed the new Gallery option by now. It's a pretty neat system that will make sharing your photos with the forums even easier. I'm in the process of writing some tutorials (along with photos) to help you all better understand how to use it and so you know what its capable of doing. I wanted to write a quick message here before I finished the tutorials though, because there is 1 feature that is pretty important. When you're uploading your pictures and get to step 2, you may see a checkbox under your photos that says something about adding your photo to a map. This is PUBLIC information that anyone will be able to see, so if you don't want to blow your spots, DON'T CHECK THAT BOX. The only time that checkbox will appear is when your photo has the GPS Data saved in the photo (exif data). Most camera phones and even some higher end cameras save this info. EXIF data is actually pretty useful. It saves dates, camera settings, all kinds of awesome stuff. You can view that data after the image is on the gallery (more detailed tutorials will come soon). Keep the photos coming! Quote
