Fishing Cowgirl Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 I'm liking it so far, except my avatar isn't showing. Soooooo I'm off to check out the help menu or find that photo. I like that photo.. Quote
Aluma-Bass Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 I am back, many thanks to Keri for fixing me. Your the greatest!!!!!!!!!!!!! She also got me going too!! Thanks Keri!!! Quote
Aluma-Bass Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 The mobile site was actually the first change I noticed since I often check the site from my phone. I can tell you now, I will be using the boards a lot more now that there is a really slick, fast and easy to use mobile version. This rocks! Ill have to check that out...i get on from my phn alot but use to take so long to navigate or get logged in off the phn. Good news! Quote
-nick- Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 I applaud BR for trying to improve the site, but I don't care for it. Hard to read, doesn't navigate as easily as before, the old look imo was far superior, especially in being user friendly. To be honest it has made me lose interest in being an active participant. I agree. I'm sure it'll just take some time to get used to it, but my initial impressions are the same as yours. I thought it was pretty much perfect before too. Quote
CWilliams Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 Wow! The mobile version is a MASSIVE improvement! That alone is worth the upgrade IMO. Anyone have the url for the mobile version? Quote
newriverfisherman1953 Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 Finally got logged back on after the changes. I think I am going to like it. Quote
Super User Way2slow Posted April 5, 2011 Super User Posted April 5, 2011 OK, I've given it a few days and hate it more each time I log in. I know they've gotta pay the bills but there is so much advertising on it now, it makes it hard to actually use the sight. Sorry, but I think I will become more of a stranger to the site, which will probably make some happier anyway. Quote
BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted April 5, 2011 BassResource.com Administrator Posted April 5, 2011 Actually, there's LESS ads throughout the site. They're just larger - and they're what paid for this massive upgrade. I'll remove them if you want to open up your wallet. The mobile site is the same URL as the regular site. It automatically detects you're using a smartphone, and serves up the correct version. Quote
Bass Dude Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 I don't mind the ads, but I think they do need to be reconfigured so they don't run into the posts. All sites have ads, but they don't get in the way, like i feel they do on here. Quote

Super User CWB Posted April 6, 2011 Super User Posted April 6, 2011 So far, I'm not completely liking it. Might not ever. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Just an old fart with old school ways but I realize the need to keep up with the times. But unlike Sir Snook said, no matter what the change, I will never lose interest in this site. Don't have to like the way it looks to like the way it works!! Best source of info out there. Quote
Super User cart7t Posted April 9, 2011 Super User Posted April 9, 2011 Looks nice especially since I can post again. Quote
Super User A-Jay Posted April 10, 2011 Super User Posted April 10, 2011 After seeing the "New Look" I was concerned that all the bells & whistles add would be a distraction. Additionally, I was worried that the members of my generation (child of the 50's) might not be too thrilled with the changes. They might choose to participate here a bit less or even worse, not at all. Some serious knowledge and experience in all things, not just bass fishing, is routinely shared by these valuable members and it would be a great loss and quite a shame to lose them. Time will tell just how this plays out. A-Jay Quote
