JohnMac Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 Alright guys the bait monkey is back again and im lookin to pick up some GYCB twin tail grubs but my problem what type of hook to fish them on. I was thinking some sort of bear jig head but i really dont know Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted May 8, 2009 Super User Posted May 8, 2009 I fish them as jig trailers. To fish them as a traditional grub, I would suggest a 1/8 oz jig head. 8-) Quote

BassFishingMachine Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 Alright guys the bait monkey is back again and im lookin to pick up some GYCB twin tail grubs but my problem what type of hook to fish them on. I was thinking some sort of bear jig head but i really dont know Why not buy the GYCB hulagrub instead? Its a twintail grub with a skirt connected to the back of it, its a nicer bait rigged on a jighead then a regular twintail grub if you ask me. Quote
Matt 825 Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 I use them as jig trailers on Football jigs. If I were to use them on a jig head I would throw it on a 1/8-1/2 OZ Football head depending on depth. Quote
bunkerbstr Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 Oldham screwlock heads are nice. I'd get a few different weights 1/8-3/8 depending on depth you're fishing. I like the kind with the wire weedguard. Give the weedguard a few ups & downs to get it flexible. If you can find the light wire hook version get those, if not the heavy hook is good too. I've never fished the twin tails on these heads only the single tails, but I'm sure it'll work just as well. Check out some of the Football heads too if you're fishing around rock. Quote
Pitchinkid Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 Try a spot remover shakyhead and commence to shaking Quote
bigfruits Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 the twin tail hula grub is one of my favorite baits. i fish it on a 1/4 oz arkie jighead. Quote
Super User iceintheveins Posted May 8, 2009 Super User Posted May 8, 2009 They are great grubs for river smallies on a jighead, and they make great jig trailers too. I prefer hula grubs for largemouth or deep water though. Quote
5151 Posted May 9, 2009 Posted May 9, 2009 I swim them on these ,3/0 1/8 with great success, blkwblue flk http://www.***.com/descpageMUSWRMHK-MPLP.html Quote
