Super User clayton86 Posted March 1, 2011 Super User Posted March 1, 2011 how would u rig a tube weedless i lost a ton of tubes last year getting snagged on rocks or trees that washed down the river. i was thinking t rigging them with a ewg hook that way i can drag the tube over submerged stumps and trees without getting snagged into the bark. any other suggestions Quote
MNGeorge Posted March 1, 2011 Posted March 1, 2011 Try this... http://bassinblog.richlindgren.com/2009/01/23/how-to-rig-a-stupid-tube.aspx Quote

WanderLust Posted March 2, 2011 Posted March 2, 2011 All good suggestions... Ike posted a finesse tube article on bass that includes weightless instructions. I have to say I was messing around with a few methods. Stupid rig works well but the method posted by Bobby Megastrike is simple & effective. It involves using an external shakey head jig (t-rigged). I need to field test it but it seems pretty darn good. Quote
Scorcher214 Posted March 6, 2011 Posted March 6, 2011 Anybody know where to buy some jigheads with the weed gaurd attached? Quote
BassResource.com Administrator Keri Posted March 6, 2011 BassResource.com Administrator Posted March 6, 2011 We use a hook similar to this. Quote
smbrule Posted March 9, 2011 Posted March 9, 2011 I'm an avid tube fisherman. Fish them for both LMB and SMB (on rocky Lake of the Woods) When I want to avoid snags I use an EWG hook with an inside tube weight texposed. I prefer Yamamoto Tube weights as they are inexpensive (see Tackle Warehouse). I usually use a 4 inch tube. Compared to smaller tubes a 4" tube is fatter at the head an less likely to snag in rocks. The inside tube weight also cuts down on snags. http://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Yamamoto_Snagfree_Tube_Weight/descpage-YSTW.html Quote
MFBAB Posted March 9, 2011 Posted March 9, 2011 I use jigs w/ weedguards some, just push the weedguard up through the tube first as you insert the jighead. Quote
hookingem Posted March 10, 2011 Posted March 10, 2011 This is cool! Might have to give this a shot. Quote
