jenga Posted January 2, 2011 Posted January 2, 2011 I would plan your trip for sometime in May or early June. As of boat rentals there are only a few. I think that Jimmy's boat rental is a 14 ft. with a 25 hp on it and you can only use in Anchor Bay. I know that I will be out every week from ice out til Aug depending on weather. If you want a guide I would highly recommend Gerry Goestnick he is the local pro but very expensive. You should also check out lakestclair.net they have info for everything on their website. If you can't rent or hire a guide I will be more then willing to take you out. Jenga Quote

BRONZEBACK67 Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 If you are going to fish Canadian waters, the season does not open for bass until the last weekend in June. Just a heads up. Quote

As for expensive, i would say about average for LSC. Remember more times than not, you get what you pay for. I have used him twice now and wouldn't hesitate to use him again. Great guy, very personable, and very informative. However, he is usually booked for the entire year so if you decide to use him plan way ahead of time and shoot for late May, early June or the Fall. Some of the biggest come late in fall out of LSC. Good luck And as Jenga stated, I would always be happy to put the boat in LSC Quote
SPAZ Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 I went out with Gerry two years ago and we had a great time on Lk St Clair and he put us on fish. Very good guide and person. Quote
Crankenstein_MI Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 go with Gary, or you can fish pre-spawn fish in early May. Real easy to catch that time of year Quote
Rusty Shackleford Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 The only time my buddies and I can get up there is the last weekend in August... How is the bite that time of year? Quote
jenga Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 It is very tough fishing in Aug. You will have to concentrate on deep water or the rivers. Jenga Quote

Super User MALTESE FALCON Posted February 15, 2011 Super User Posted February 15, 2011 In my opinion, if you want to catch alot of smallies, and big smallies, fish St. Clair in late May, through June. Rusty, I have to agree with Jack. August is my least productive month. Falcon Quote
