Super User MALTESE FALCON Posted August 20, 2010 Super User Posted August 20, 2010 Normally September is a good month for me. This year has been VERY warm, and unless it cools down soon, the good fishing will be delayed. Last September I was getting five fish bags of 21-22 pounds. I had one four fish bag of 19 pounds. Fun times. Falcon Quote
jenga Posted August 21, 2010 Posted August 21, 2010 I haven't had much success in the fall but I have heard from people that it is a good time. Im just so busy I can't get out much during that time of the year. Jenga Quote
Sfritr Posted August 24, 2010 Posted August 24, 2010 I just moved from Michigan back home to Cincinnati. There are only two things I will miss about Mi. 1. smallie fishing on St.Clair in the spring 2. The highway sign that says "Welcome to Ohio" going south on 23. Quote
Nine Miler Posted August 24, 2010 Posted August 24, 2010 Sfritr, you obviously spent far too little time in Michigan, there are a million things that are great- spring smallies are just one. Falcon, I agree. As long as you can take the weather you can catch fish into November.. Quote
Sfritr Posted August 25, 2010 Posted August 25, 2010 Actually, I loved all the outdoor opportunities in Michigan. I finally couldn't deal with the lack of work, poor housing market, and school layoffs that put my wife and myself out of work. Had to move out to move on. I would move back in the future if the opportunity presented itself. Quote
Bass Fisher55 Posted August 28, 2010 Posted August 28, 2010 It's been really screwy all year in Lake St. Clair. When it comes to fall, I like fishing near dumping grounds or near Delphine channel. But, I'm sure there are other better places. Quote
jenga Posted September 12, 2010 Posted September 12, 2010 Went out yesterday and fished near the nine mile tower in 12 to 10 fow. The wate temp was 63 degrees at surface temp. I ended up catching 5 all 2.5 to 3.5 lbs we also caught a nice meal of perch that my buddy took home. I caught 3 two on KVD's spinnerbaits and 1 on golden shinners. The wind was brutal so I only fished for about 3.5 hrs. Hope this helps. Jenga Quote
Sfritr Posted September 14, 2010 Posted September 14, 2010 Planning on hitting St.Clair this weekend. Maybe Friday, Saturday. I usually put in at the 9mile marina. Have an Excellent burger from Kens marina at lunchtime and head back out. I will keep you posted. Quote

jenga Posted September 30, 2010 Posted September 30, 2010 goin out on saturday. I will report back how I do. I think this is going to be a good weekend for fishing. Water temp is 62 and we had a lot of rain so it should cool things down even more I think. Jenga Quote
Nibbles Posted October 1, 2010 Posted October 1, 2010 I will be out on St Clair saturday as well - prefishing for the CBAA Big Ten on Sunday. Wanna give me some coordinates to try out? Quote
jenga Posted October 5, 2010 Posted October 5, 2010 Nibbles, Hey I would of given you some info if I would of looked the night before. Sorry, I went out on sat and it was brutle. I launched then came right back in, and went up to anchor bay. It was really muddy and windy, I got one smallie that was maybe 1.5 lbs. How did you do in the big ten tournament. Jenga Quote
jenga Posted October 12, 2010 Posted October 12, 2010 Well went out last Friday for about 3 hours and got two fish one smallie and one bucket. My brother got skunked(he caught one that was dead in the water) and the other guy we took out (can't remember name) got blanked as well. Im the better angler so that is why I caught some. I am done fishing for the season it. Now I can't wait for snowmobiling. Jenga Quote
boneil Posted October 12, 2010 Posted October 12, 2010 done fishing for the season??? It's not that cold up there, is it? Quote
jenga Posted October 19, 2010 Posted October 19, 2010 No but I am so busy with other things and the fishing has been really tough so I decieded to put the boat away. If I fish it will be from shore. Jenga Quote
