wvbucketmouth Posted May 25, 2010 Posted May 25, 2010 Got this little guy this morning. Kinda hard to take a good pic by myself with my cell phone, but you can get the idea. The lure is a 2 3/4 inch Yo-Zuri Pin's Minnow. Seeing how the lure is less than 3 inches, you can tell just how huge the smallie is. ;D He was released safe and sound, just hope nothing eats it. Super User islandbass Posted May 25, 2010 Super User Posted May 25, 2010 That's cool, but my dad got that one beat. I think it's smaller than the lure you were using. This little guy took down his rod like a lunker. We both thought he had a bruiser on the way it slammed his rod tip down. I couldn't stop laughing after I saw it, because he kept saying, "Get the camera!!! I got a big one on!!" Quote
riverfisher Posted May 25, 2010 Posted May 25, 2010 I have caught a few smaller then a chug bug. Its amazing what those little guys will try to hit!! ;D Quote
wvbucketmouth Posted May 25, 2010 Author Posted May 25, 2010 ;D ;D ;D Good stuff!! Those things are MEAN!! They will try to eat anything, and yes, he still jumped! 8-) Mine looks bigger in the pic than he really is. I thought I snagged another lure ;D I did get a couple 13-15 inchers and the 3 incher was just as fun (or maybe it was just funny). First time using the Pin's Minnow. Caught a few white bass on it too. That lure worked pretty well today. Quote
Super User iceintheveins Posted May 28, 2010 Super User Posted May 28, 2010 I get quite a few like that on the Yampa River in Colorado, but that's just because they are so abundant. Use bigger lures and you will get the pigs on the Yampa. The smallest I have ever caught was about 2" long, on a crankbait bigger than him. Quote
Nibbles Posted July 3, 2010 Posted July 3, 2010 That reminds me of a local creek that is somehow filled with 2" and 3" stripers. It's mind boggling when you consider how the heck they got in there in the first place. Quote
Super User A-Jay Posted July 3, 2010 Super User Posted July 3, 2010 OK - here's the two smallest smb for last season ~ Unfortunately for them, they were both foul hooked. A-Jay Quote
