mi_basser Posted May 26, 2010 Posted May 26, 2010 A buddy and I have a trip planned up to Lake Charlevoix for the second weekend in June. Does anyone know the water temps up there right now. Hoping to run into the smallmouth spawn but not sure if it is going to work out for us. Thanks for any input. Quote
hoyt_shooter101 Posted May 28, 2010 Posted May 28, 2010 Have been fishing south of Lake Charlevoix, on the chain of lakes and seeing temps in the mid to upper 50's, would assume they are pretty close up there right now.Hammered the smallies this past Saturday over 20 fish in about 5 hrs.Gotta love the catch and release early season, glad the DNRE finally allow us to target them out of season. They were taken in 7-9 FOW.My guess is the spawn will be over or on the tail end by the time you guys make it up, but you could also target Grand Traverse Bay that starts to heat up as soon as the inland lake die down for a few weeks.Heading back out with my son for the opener this weekend.Good luck if you make it out. hoyt_shooter101 Posted May 28, 2010 Posted May 28, 2010 You could call Tom's bait and tackle might be able to give you better temps for Lake Charlevoix (231) 536-3521 he is out of East Jordan. Quote
